Autumn Break

Hello again dear readers..........we're back now from a very refreshing autumn break in the lake district, and here is my newly finished cosy little autumn heartstrings quilt which i took with us.......

........it was hand quilted, with a natural gingham backing and dotty hot-chocolate coloured binding....
.........our days away were very peaceful, enjoying walks and the beautiful scenery.....
........lots of rain meant the rivers were full to overflowing......below is a view of hawkshead village....
.........lovely little sights and views everywhere........such a timeless feeling......
........the famous little bridge house in ambleside over the river.........
........and a small queue in the rain at the door of hilltop, beatrix potter's house where we wandered in the garden and took pictures and enjoyed the atmosphere of a mild and softly rainy lake district day.......
..........below is rydal water viewed from a path called the coffin road which goes from ambleside to grasmere.....we love this walk and all the views.......
...........wordsworth loved this waterfall in the grounds of rydal hall......lots of other swishing and swirling little waterfalls everywhere this week after lots of rainfall.......
........we walked in dora's field too......lots of leafy trees and fallen acorns, berries and ferns....in spring it is filled with daffodils, planted by william wordsworth and his family in memory of his beloved daughter dora who died young......
..........lots of lovely relaxing times mean i've come back with plenty of energy for creating and crafting and writing patterns ready for the new season......

.............thank you for dropping by lovely readers and for your kind comments.........wishing you a happy october and cosy autumn days................take care lovelies.......................back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
