Spring Flowers

Hello again everyone...it's a bright sunny day here and we have some bright sunny flowers to see...
.........i picked some tulips from the garden to enjoy indoors....there are lots of different colours and varieties to choose from, bold or pastel, simple or unusual..... and i love them all....
........the tulips match the colours in my spring nine patch quilt...... (pattern in my etsy shop link in sidebar)........the fresh cut tulips are strong and vigorous and i love to see them in a big mixed bunch..
........this week we had a walk in a nearby village and saw these daffodils on the green outside the church.....masses of them and all looking perfect at the same time.....
.....lovely to see the old sign on the wall.....there are lots of stables around here so it still applies ;).....
.........beautiful green shade of a country lane......
........old buildings, blue sky, sunshine and a timeless feel....
..........and of course some blossom looking beautiful on a perfect spring day.....
...........back in my garden again and here is a peek at the bright white newly painted fence....
.........and a few more tulip pictures....making the most of them as they are over so soon....
.....each autumn i add a few tulip bulbs to the garden but always forget which ones or even where...so each spring it's a nice surprise as they pop up.......

....thanks for dropping by to see me here lovely readers and for your very kind comments.....i hope you have a happy week ahead with sunny days and pretty flowers...and some crafty times too.....take care lovelies....back soon xxxxxxxxx

Cherry Blossom Time

Hello again lovely readers......it's time for some cherry blossom pictures here, making the most of it as the blossom begins to fall and float away like snowflakes......
.......this sweet and cheery cherry fabric recently inspired me to sew another of my tiny tote bags....the wide border was used for the front of the bag, and the all over cherry and check part was perfect for the lining...the handles are made from a striped print...all fabrics are japanese and bought from rose garden patchwork.....
.....when it was time to photograph the little bag i knew just what to add....some white cherry blossom....
........such a gorgeous time of year....love to go for walks and spy new blossoms opening...though some have definitely been blighted by the unseasonable frost and snow we had as they developed...the churchyard cherry tree i always photograph has almost no blossom this time......
.......the early cherry blossoms are so delicate and pretty.....
.......had to snap this big seagull too while i was taking pics in the garden....the house below is our neighbours...the view is of the sea and beyond the sea (this bit is the estuary) is wales........
......a sprig of precious blossom in the potting shed.....
........we also have bluebells beginning to open now, along the lanes, through the woods and in our garden....here is a little bluebell jug on my work table, with the favourite four patch boat quilt i'm quilting at the moment.....
........and there are beautiful forget me nots too........love their tiny perfection and colour.....
.......pink flower scissors to cut a posy from the garden are an essential....
.........and finally a blossom against blue sky picture......just had to have one of these.....

.........thank you for visiting me here dear readers and for your kind comments....it's always lovely to hear from you......wishing you a happy, cheerful week with sunshine, flowers and crafty times.....keep well lovelies....back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Tiny Tote Bag

Hello again dear readers.......this week has been mostly about patchwork and flowers for me...
........this is my new tiny tote bag pattern and it's such a lovely way to play with fabrics.....
....combining different sweet prints from scraps and stash......i love making these so much....
......the little peter rabbit notebook here was from the new cath kidston range (one of my lovely mother's day gifts)
......as well as making patchwork things i've been outdoors with my husband painting the picket fence (see above for the before....next time i'll show the after!).... and putting new gravel down on the old gravel paths....good to do some hard work after all the easter chocolate....
........patchwork in progress for the new little tote bags......
.....flower square pincushion on my work table.......(the pattern for this and for the new tiny tote bag can be found in my etsy shop link in sidebar)........
.....and some sherbet pips left from easter treats.......
.......tiny totes and tiny daffodils above........and below a local cottage garden with its beautiful drifts of daffodils under the trees.......
........it's blossom time and so uplifting to walk in the sunshine, seeing all the newly flowering pretty trees, and the blue sky.......and hearing the birdsong......
.........in my cottage garden this week lots of flowers are opening and i'll be photographing it this weekend, now we have almost finished the fence painting.....here are some primroses in an old enamel bowl....

.......thank you for dropping by to see me here lovely readers......and thanks for taking time to leave a comment....it's always a pleasure to hear from you.......wishing you a wonderful week with sunshine and flowers and happy crafty times........take care lovelies........back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sweet Spring Days

Hello again dear blog friends.......here i am again after a sunny happy easter.....we had a beautifully sunny warm easter sunday when the littlest grandchildren had their egg hunt here.....we were able to sit in the garden all day and enjoy our easter treats.......
.........which was so lucky because the next morning at breakfast hubby and i noticed it was actually snowing outside!!........
..........here's mabel with her basket full of fabric eggs and her rainbow cardigan.....
.........the beatrix potter egg hunt signs were dotted around the garden by me, and the many foil covered little eggs were hidden among the flowers and foliage by my elder daughter and eldest grandson......
.........an egg hunt is always fun for the tinies and it's so lovely to see their excitement ........
.........this is my irish chain quilt and below are some new spring fabric birds......
...........looking decorative in the potting shed.......
......the bunny, birds, eggs and quilt patterns can all be found in my etsy shop link in sidebar....

...........i do love an easter or spring wreath.....the one above is one i've treasured for a few years now....the one below is from my latest book home sweet home sewing.....
.........you can add lots of flowers, leaves and eggs...or just a few....it's up to you....
......spring flowers bring so much joy each year don't they?.......love these rainbow tulips in a pretty jug on the window sill......
.....and happily i recently found the 'lost in the attic for a couple of years' beatrix potter egg hunt signs just in time for this year's egg hunt for our little grandchildren in our garden.......so excited to see the family again and have special times once more now lockdown is gradually lifting here....
