Pretty Patchwork

Hello again dear readers......today i can show you the finished  pretty patchwork i began last time.....

........now made into a pillow.......in fact the simple patchwork pillow pattern is now available in my etsy shop link in sidebar........

........the fabrics used are delicious ones from atsuko matsuyama (with a few extras from my scrap basket, like stripes and dots).........you can find them on etsy and at rose garden patchwork online......

.......i loved the fruit label design so much i made it into dottie drawstring bags, just as it was........here's the blue one.....

......and here's the pink one........

......and i used some little pieces of the blue fruit label print in my simple patchwork pillow too.......

........for the backing fabric i used a very pale rose and ribbon design from the same designer........

..........as well as pretty patchwork this week i've been so enjoying all the pretty flowers....everywhere there are bluebells......in the hedgerows, in every corner of the garden and wherever there is space to grow they pop up and look beautiful.......as well as in great drifts beneath the trees in the woods.....i hope to take more pictures of them before they are over........

........and here is my sweet little crabapple tree covered in bright pink blossom......

..........i moved it into the front garden bed last year as it didn't seem very happy in its pot......love this pretty blossom...such a splash of colour among the green......

Tulips and Blossom

Hello again dear readers.......here is a recently renovated bedroom in our old house......we added panelling behind the bed and i've enjoyed styling it in different ways.......

........this time with my favourite old red and white checkerboard quilt, cabbages and roses pillowcases and red tulips in a white vintage french jar........

..........and hanging on the bed post is a red and white cutter quilt heart (pattern for this and the quilt can be found in my etsy shop link in sidebar)..........

..........a week or two ago you may have noticed me mentioning that although i planted a lot of pink tulips none came up.....well, now some have :)....... 

........and even some of the *red* tulips began to look a bit pink...........

........anyhow they are a lovely riot of colour especially on a grey spring day and they have been surprisingly robust during the recent gales........

...........below is my daughter's blossoming cherry tree..........so gorgeous, and now turning from deep pink to pale pink....... 

.........some work in progress patchwork to show you now, using pale pinks and blues from atsuko matsuyama's sweet fabric collections for yuwa........

..........love these pretty fabrics so much and can't wait to use them in other projects too......

..............more pink blossom..........just a gorgeous sight and so fleeting.........

...........and a picture of the lane we walked along this week, with white blossom and new green foliage and a bright yellow gorse bush further ahead.....

In and Out of the Garden

Hello again lovely readers.......my first pictures today are of my latest daisy quilt (pattern in my etsy shop link in sidebar) made with tilda *pie in the sky* fabrics and photographed in the potting shed in between gales and rain showers.......

......we had a lovely easter weekend and luckily the weather was fine for the children's easter egg hunt.....

.........this quilt was longarm machine quilted for me by scrapbox quilting and i love the texture with the jewel like colours.......

.......after lots of time in the garden last week, the weather became wild and windy and we had to move plants and garden chairs and pots to safety as the gales got up........even our tall  bird feeder blew over.....

.....but i did manage my outdoor photoshoot anyway :)..........the backing fabric below is kona cotton solid  in candy pink......tilda do matching solids too but i already had this in my stash........

.........for a complete change of feel here is my next vintage charm quilt made with very soft pink and low volume fabrics including lots of the flower farm fabric from moda........

...........i began making this after the busy bank holiday weekend, enjoying a quiet spell of sewing, a nice cup of tea and some easter chocolate......

.........looking forward to next month's pageantry and excitement of the king's coronation.......here is my little coronation keepsake with some of our first bluebells from this year's garden......pattern in my etsy shop link in sidebar.......

...........below.......lots of bluebells coming into flower under the ash tree in our garden........

........and my favourite auriculas and primroses in pots, safe from the storm........

..........despite the wild weather though we've had some lovely spring moments that we are so grateful for.......the scent of hyacinths, the blue sky and green grass, and eastertime spent with family........such happy moments.......

Easter Wishes

Hello dear readers.......here we are at easter once again.......and all the decorations are up now ready for our family weekend......

........lettuce the sugar bunny has a new purple spotted dress.......

...........and we have lots of posies of flowers picked from the garden........

..........the log cabin doll quilt pattern, sugar bunny pattern and auricula seed packet pattern are all in my etsy shop link in sidebar.....

.........this week i finished a new quilt top.....it's a version of my pinwheels quilt......made with lots of pretty prints and solid white.....

...........i used scraps of favourite japanese fabrics mainly and some new prints just received......

........also made with sweet japanese fabrics (yuwa) is this little easter egg appliqué pincushion....pattern new to my etsy shop, link in sidebar as before......

........enjoying the spring flowers around the garden in the sunshine.......

..........this year i planted a tulip bed again........i spent ages in the garden centre selecting packs of tulip bulbs.....loads of pink ones, some white, some red.....and look what's come up........

..........orange, yellow, red.....but not one pink one.......oh well.......

...........pretty pansies with their sweet faces are flowering profusely in a little pot below.......
