Four Patch

Hello again everyone.....this past week has seen a lot of fabric cutting going on in my sewing room.....making squares for four patch blocks......first there were squares cut from this adorable boat fabric by lewis and irene......
.......mixed with red and white stripes for some cute little seaside inspired four patches.....these will be made into my favourite four patch on point quilt with blue setting squares......
..........then i wanted to begin another four patch quilt, this time inspired by coffee......
........in particular this gorgeous coffee themed fabric by suzuko koseki........
..........more cute little four patches were made and these will be joined with pale coffee coloured solid fabric setting squares......will show you more progress soon.....
...........fabric love......japanese prints like these often inspire me.........this fabric is available from rosegarden patchwork.......
..........floral inspiration is important to me too......here are some deliciously scented hyacinths in the kitchen.......
.........and these pretty little primroses were growing at the edge of a fence on our walk the other day....
.....our walk took us a long an old bridleway this time......
.........it was sunny with blue sky and very cheerful.......
.......now i am going to have a nice cup of coffee and go back to sewing my seaside quilt....here is a sugar mouse wearing his nautical outfit of denim trousers and red and white striped cardigan (all the patterns are in my etsy shop link in sidebar).......

.....thank you for dropping by dear readers........and for the kind words you leave me.....wishing you a wonderful week filled with sunny days, crafty inspirations and happy times.......take care lovelies......back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bunny, Birds and Blooms

Spring greetings today dear blog friends.......we have had some wild windy and wet weather but today the sunshine is back and here is mabel, the big bunny, wearing her new spring cardigan.....
........mabel is a very big rabbit, especially compared to my sugar bunnies, so she needed a special cardigan knitting pattern to fit her.....quite small on the top but chubby in the arms.....she seems happy in both the long and the short sleeved versions (pattern for the big bunny cardigan is now in my etsy shop link in sidebar)...
........besides knitting and quilting lately i have been sewing some bright little fabric birds for easter decorations....
.....often i make these birds into a long string but this time i decided to make just one little bird hanger, with beads, a scrap of gingham ribbon and some raffia for a rustic garden feel.....
........a pink one, and a green one and a yellow one......
......the fabrics are pretty little japanese florals......such sweet prints and colours....
.........last week at the garden centre we found these lovely primulas....at first i thought they were auriculas but no, they were primulas with a two colour flower....so pretty.....
....after enjoying them indoors for a bit i'll put them outside where they will be happier....
........here's a picture taken in the greenhouse where you can see more primulas, some sweet pea seedlings growing away and some geraniums cheerily flowering too......lots more seeds still to plant......the cold weather this past week put a stop to a lot of my gardening......
........it's been a quilty kind of week......
........rescuing a few daffodils from the windswept garden and looking out patiently, like mabel....
.........thank you for dropping by to my little bit of blog land dear readers......and thank you for the kind comments....wishing you a wonderful week ahead with sunshine, flowers, crafty inspirations and happy times......take care lovelies...............back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Garden Dreams

Hello again lovely readers......it's spring time here now and we are planning our garden planting for the coming season......
....we are planting lots of seeds in the greenhouse and will be ordering lots of bright flowers, both large  plants and small plug plants too....hope to fill up our garden with colour all summer long.....the little stitched flower patch pincushion here uses some of my favourite florals.....
....and here are the sugar bunnies dressed for spring in their new dungarees made from tilda tiny farm fabrics....
........i had lots of enquiries about clothes for boy bunnies so now i have a pattern for both dungarees and trousers in my etsy shop link in sidebar.....
........below is a picture of the trousers worn with the knitted toys spring cardigan and also a peek at the little bunnies quilt, vintage style......
.........here's my spring quilt cupboard stuffed with colourful quilts.......
.........the china bunnies have also reappeared to decorate our house......
........it looks like we might very well be able to hold the egg hunt here this easter for our little grandchildren....fingers crossed and the easing of lockdown plans continuing.......
..........pottering in the greenhouse and sorting out the bulbs....when they finish flowering in the pots i plant them out in the cottage garden.....there are lots of bulbs just coming through there and i can't wait to see what they are.......
.........and slowly the different varieties of daffodils are beginning to flower too......
......it's such a lovely time of year even with the chilly (well, freezing cold) days we still sometimes get it's lighter and brighter and sunnier and the birdsong is so uplifting.....
