Christmas Time

 Hello dear readers....we are very busy here at reindeer road getting ready for christmas.......
 .............and doing some essential crafting like making this reindeer cushion with some of my favourite scraps ;).............the pixies are all out and about now helping and looking cute.....
 ...........the reindeer cushion is another to add to my patchwork series made in previous years which i still use and love.....
 .............and i think the reindeer road sign might just have to stay up now......
 ............in my sewing room the winter quilt made a couple of years ago is on the wall behind my sewing table......
 ..............it's very twinkly and cosy in there with fairy lights and candles............
 ............i found my holly hexie pot holder and put it in the kitchen to add to the festive feel.....
 ...........enjoying lots of mince pies and hot cups of tea.....
 ...........i snapped this picture beneath the beautiful holly tree in our local churchyard.....it's a good year for holly berries here......and below is a quick easy make.....a holly pincushion made with wool felt bobbles and snipped felt holly leaves and a bit of festive ribbon with a message on......
 .............we are really looking forward to christmas and family times (and seeing the small grandchildren open their presents)......lots to do still and i will be taking a little blog break next week.......

Festive Home

 Hello again dear readers.........here i am again with a few pictures from around our festive home this week....the house cushion is now finished and i loved sewing it........more pictures and details coming when i've finished writing the pattern for it....
 ...........one thing i love at this time of year are some bulbs with their fresh green growth.....
 ............and frosty apples, twinkly star lights and red and white quilts stacked up......
 .............i treated myself to a bunch of supermarket roses and added ivy and berries from the garden to the arrangement........and a little bunny...........
 .............bunnies in bed is a theme i have loved for many years......ever since i made a cake with that theme for my youngest daughter when she was about four years old.....
 ......here is lettuce the sugar bunny snuggled up under a very festive doll quilt......
 .............she even has a tiny stocking hanging at the end of her bed.....
 ..............the little dogs doll quilt is from my book *modern vintage gifts*......this version was made with cute little joys fabrics by elea lutz................
 .............as well as making toys i can't resist buying maileg toys sometimes and of course the grandchildren like them too :).............
 ...............the big princess mouse is becoming fond of the new cushion ......
 ..............and more maileg pixies are here with one of my sugar mice.............my mouse and bunny patterns can be found in my etsy shop link in side bar.......

Merry and Bright Stitchery

 Happy December dear readers......'tis the season for some bright and festive sewing..........here is the applique berry pot block being hand quilted.........
 ............and one of my favourite English paper pieced stars made into an ornament.....
 ...........lots of starry twinkle lights here too to add to the festive feel.......
 ............a few weeks ago my elder daughter and i went to a blogger event at inspirations......it was a gorgeous evening with so much to see and enjoy on every kind of christmas theme beautifully laid out and inspiring......i loved the pink nutcracker :).......
 ..............and it's where i got my reindeer rd sign too which i showed you recently.....more of this (and snowman avenue) when i put the signs up in our house!......
 ............here's a little deer inspired log cabin block to add to my work in progress quilt....
 ...........after a couple of weeks of dull, wet and dreary weather we were blessed at the weekend with a bright and frosty day......
 ............we walked by the sea in our little town......
 ................here's molly (glad of her naturally woolly coat as it was freezing despite the sunshine)...
 ..........also at the weekend we got out the decorations, put up the outside christmas lights and dressed the two trees....a small red and white in the sitting room and a bigger one with pastel colours in the lounge (as i do each year)......lots of help from mr p, my daughter and grand daughter made it all quite quick and easy :) ......we had some tea and mince pies after to celebrate the season....
 ...........and a final sewing project is this little drawstring bag made from the pattern in my etsy shop but with smaller squares..........such a nice way to hold a gift and then reuse it i think......

Little Cherries Quilt

 Hello again dear readers.....here is the finished and photographed little cherries quilt.....
 ............i have made a set of three little fruit quilts and this is the third and final one.....
...........i loved using the soft green tilda fabrics with pale lecien neutrals and  then the little bright cherries popping out...........
 ............it makes a nice lap quilt or cot quilt.........
 ..........a couple of garden pictures before it became too wet and muddy.....
 ............and one in the potting shed........
 .............here are the little fruit quilts together...plums, apples and cherries.......the pdf patterns are in my etsy shop link in sidebar.......
 ...........little flower posy from last week still going strong.........we had such a rainy weekend but between the rain we walked around this old cheshire village.....
 .............love these black and white houses.........such a grey sky and dull light .....
 ..............lots of berries and even some flowers still in bloom.....and damp fallen leaves everywhere....
 ............and at home the pixie girl is back again.......we are getting out the christmas decorations ready for december's arrival......off to do some more festive sewing now................

Pinwheels and Flowers

 Welcome to my little blog space dear readers on a cold and wintry november day...........
 ............here are some pictures of my freshly long arm quilted pinwheels quilt...........
 .............it arrived back this week and i am very pleased with it....love how debbie holland quilted the circles which really make the pinwheels swirl.............
 ............also this week i was given some lovely red and white flowers ..........
 ..........which i divided into posies in different jugs.........love the effect of red berries and white china...
 ..............my studio and sewing room just became festive.....especially as i was gathering things together for photo shoots of toys and quilts..............
 ............the sugar mouse pattern (medium sized, the same as the sugar bunny but slightly shorter due to her ears!) is now in my etsy shop link in sidebar.....
 .............lovely little brocante milking stool makes a nice prop for displays....and i still love my red and white greengate jug......
 ..............little doll quilt and susie watson jug filled with red and white floral snippets..........
 .............the latest log cabin block for the ongoing quilt is a festive one...........
 ....love these lewis and irene fabrics especially the little soldiers................and finally one more pinwheel picture with a sign i couldn't resist buying...........think it will be very useful for my december decorating :).............
