Autumn Times

Hello again dear readers......back today with some more pictures from our recent lake district trip.....this is rydal mount, the home of william wordsworth and his wife mary, their children and his beloved sister dorothy (whose journals i love reading).....
........the house has a lovely big garden and this was taken from the lower part looking up....still lots of flowers......
..........tea and scones in the tearoom please.......and a ginger cat to match the apricot roses......
...........i tried attracting the kitty to look at me for the photo but .....no......
............william wordsworth's study at the top of the house.....peaceful and with lovely views......
..........and in the garden.....a potting shed, a greenhouse and dahlias.........the house still belongs to the wordsworth family and i believe you can actually stay there overnight if you wish.......
..........back home again now in our own garden with my new autumn leaves quilt......
.....always wanted to make one of these using the maple leaf (also called the tea leaf) block......
.....the pattern for it is in my etsy shop link in sidebar........
..........look what popped up in our gravel path to welcome us home.......a host of cute little mushrooms......
..........they look so sweet and so fairylike........

.......hope you've enjoyed my autumn pics today lovely readers.......thank you so much for visiting me here and for your kind comments........wishing you a happy cosy autumn week....take care lovelies.........peace and love..........back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

About 20 years ago I was on a tour of the Lake District, and as an English teacher, I just loved Wordsworth's house. How nice to revisit here with you! Those toadstools are adorable, and worth appreciating. Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden, quilt and vacation!

Wordsworth's home looks like a peaceful and pretty place to visit. You mentioned Dorothy's journals - I love reading old diaries and such, and will look for them. How pretty your autumn leaves quilt is in those soft autumn shades.

Beautiful Autumn pictures, Helen! The Tea Room sounds wonderful - that is one thing, that is very hard to find around here. Your quilt fits in perfectly with the Fall vibe - it is just lovely. Those mushrooms are very cute.
