Do What You Love

Hello again everyone.....we are back in my work room today...doing what we love....
.....it might be sewing a quilt, or choosing fabric for one....or knitting a new cardigan for mabel the big bunny....
.....or arranging quilts in a stack for a photo shoot.....
.....or any creative crafty thing you can think of.....
.......doing what you love is so good for you...even if only for a short spell.....
.......we are used to being in lockdown here but we love our daily walks.....here are some very early daffodils in our local park.....
........the daffodils in our garden are nowhere near flowering yet so it's always a joy and a surprise to see these pop up on our walks each spring...
.......and the snowdrops in the churchyard always look magical to me.....
.........back on my worktable now.....new buttons just arrived from a little bit of online shopping....
.......and vintage spools always make me happy......
.......at the moment i'm working on the big bunny cardigan pattern, and one or two quilt patterns too....the cross stitch sign pattern shown here will be released at the weekend and will appear in my etsy shop then.....(it can be made as a cushion too).......

......thank you so much for visiting my crafty space here today dear readers....and a big thank you to those who leave me a kind comment......always so lovely to hear from you.......wishing you a happy crafty weekend doing what you love..........take care and keep safe lovelies.........back soon xxxxxxxxxx

Winter Days

Hello again everyone.....here is my finished favourite four patch quilt....i had hoped to be able to take pictures of it in the snow....but as we didn't have any here it had to be just heavy frost instead ;).....
.........the colours of the fabrics (fleurs de noel by moda) are so perfectly wintry....
.......the crisp white frost made everything magical......the cottage garden was beautiful in it's quiet winter colours......
.........and the greys of the fabrics was echoed in the colour of the trees......
.....it was a very inspiring photo shoot...but a very cold one and so it was lovely to go indoors afterwards and have a hot cup of tea.......
..........this new quilt pattern which is a simple four patch but set on point which is why it's my favourite...is now a pdf pattern in my etsy shop...link in sidebar....
..........below is another cupboard in the corner of a bedroom and topped with our dolls house....
........this cupboard has often featured in my pictures but here is a peek inside it.....yes, it stores quilts ....
........the doll's house belonged to my daughters when they were little......it was made from a kit from the dolls house emporium many years ago......i looked the company up and it's still going strong...with lots more houses now....there was one a bit like this but slightly more elaborate now.....
..........so it's been a wintry old week and a lot of staying in for me and doing my crafty things and sorting out my studio and suchlike......here though are some pretty primroses and little crocus bulb shoots bringing a promise of spring....
........we have been making some garden plans and are so looking forward to planting time again...

......thank you for your visits here dear readers and for the kind comments you leave me.....so nice to hear from you and i hope you are doing ok......wherever you are and whatever is happening in your part of the world i send you lots of love and warm wishes....take care and stay safe lovelies......back soon xxxxxxxx

Rabbits and Rainbows

It might be winter here with lots of cold grey days......but working with colour has always brightened my january days......whether the colour comes from painting designs, sewing with colourful fabrics or knitting with colourful yarn....
........the bunnies lolly and lettuce here are wearing their new spring cardigans which i knitted over the christmas holiday....i knitted a lot in the evenings for a change from quilting and made lots of cardigans for all the bunnies once i'd worked out one that fitted....
........the knitting pattern is available in my etsy shop link in sidebar, as is the bunny pattern and the bunnies quilt pattern too....
.........lots of bright pastels......
..........it's probably wrong to have a favourite bunny but i am very fond of lettuce ; .....
.........the pale pink tulips were left on my doorstep by my kind  daughter as a little treat.....
........and the hyacinths from christmas have had a second set of flowers on three of the four bulbs....
.........little birds now on my tiny quilt cupboard......also in spring pastels....
...........the quilts are all chosen here for bright fresh colours.....
.......and below is a complete stack of them.......
..........there will be new patterns coming soon....i've been very busy this week pattern writing and diagram drawing.......soon i want to tidy out my studio and re organise it......working on my book a lot last year meant lots of things piled up and now it's time for a sort out....
.........thank you for coming to see me here in my little blog space dear readers.......your lovely comments are such a treat too......wishing you a good weekend with happy crafty times and lots of little treats......take good care.....stay safe lovelies........back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Home Is Best

Hello again dear readers.......back today with a cosy homely post.....we are all in lockdown again here...the home is best mug took on a new meaning recently.....
.....(the quilt being sewn here is my lucky fish quilt)....
.........just stitching in the kitchen on a sunny but chilly day.....there are biscuits in the red and white cornishware jar......
.......the quilt top was made last summer but it has been languishing in the to-be-quilted pile for months....now it's coming along quite fast and is a pleasure to hand quilt....
........we have seeds to plant and bulbs to look forward to as well as enjoying those delicious flowering hyacinths in the picture above....
......looking forward to gardening again and there are buds on so many plants and trees and shoots appearing everywhere in the wintry cottage garden......
.....cosy homely times.....hubby is working in his study upstairs much of the time.....
.....and i move between my sewing room, my studio, the kitchen and the living room.....
....it's not too bad in lockdown and as i've always worked from home i'm used to it....sometimes i do like to go out though ;).....we've had some local walks and seen some beautiful views and even some flowers...
....these are snowbells (or three cornered leeks)....hubby took this picture......
........and this was the pale blue sky behind winter trees in our park yesterday........

.........thank you for dropping by to see me here lovely blog friends...and thank you for leaving me such kind comments too......hope you keep safe and well while we wait for things to improve......take care lovelies.......... back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxx
