Jubilee

Hello lovely readers....just popping in from our jubilee weekend celebrations with a blog post......
.........this is my finished jubilee quilt.....in a vintage style using mainly lovely lewis and irene jubilee fabrics with lots of low volume ones.......the pattern is my heartstrings quilt but with fewer hearts used......(pattern is in my etsy shop link in sidebar)........i used waste canvas to cross stitch my little jubilee pincushion sampler style pattern in the centre of the quilt.....
..........this will be a unique souvenir quilt and reminder of this special time......amazing to think that our wonderful queen has reigned for 70 years and so lovely that she can celebrate her platinum jubilee with so many cheering crowds.........love to see the tradition and pageantry....and the joyfulness after such hard times......
.........the roses are all opening now and everywhere is looking beautiful......
.......i've also had a lovely time creating little jubilee keepsakes in the form of cross stitch pincushion ornaments and many people have made their own gorgeous versions.......the patterns for these are also in my etsy shop........
..........and of course we had to have cakes for our celebrations........these are my small grandchildren's favourites and i love the jubilee cake toppers so much :) ......
.......a little peek into our garden below.........flowers are burgeoning........
..........the wisteria has been wonderful this spring and is now twining among the roses on the trellis.....
..........and here are the side door roses in bloom against a bright blue sky.........

...........thank you for dropping in to see me here dear readers........thank you too for leaving me sweet comments and messages.........i hope you are having a feel-good weekend and enjoying happy times......take care lovelies.............love and peace................back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
