Red White and Blue

Hello again everyone....the word for today is stormy.....storm eunice is battering much of the uk including our little corner.......this week began with valentine's day celebrations.....so i got out lots of red and white quilts........
.........i already had these gorgeous red tulips.....and then i had some beautiful blue grape hyacinths.....
..........then came some inspiring red white and blue jubilee fabrics which i ordered from wool warehouse (the designs are by lewis and irene)........below is the little royal guardsmen scissor keep cross stitch design which is another of my jubilee keepsakes....(patterns for these in my etsy shop link in sidebar).....
..........during this stormy day when we were all advised to stay at home, i have cut into these fabrics and started making something....will show you soon.....
.........all my heart quilts have been around this week including this mini heartstrings quilt.....
........a pile of pinnies on my work table .....little souvenir gifts......
.........and a cheerful red white and blue striped backing fabric.......
.........the white flowers of this week were seen on our snowdrop walk......masses and masses of them growing beneath the trees......
.....lovely beneath the silver birches.........
........and gorgeous as far as the eye can see........snowdrops are the most perfect flowers and yet the hardest to capture, in paint, thread or photographs........i remember we used to try to draw them when i was an art student and could never quite capture that white perfection......just need to see them for real.......
.......it's been a cosy week and there have been hints of spring but mostly it's hunkering down time, with the candles and fire lit and some homely baking to enjoy........

.....thank you for dropping by to my little blog space dear readers, and thank you to everyone who leaves  me a kind comment...it's such a pleasure to hear from you and to see some old friends here as well as new.....take care and keep safe lovelies...............have a great weekend....................back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

All your red, white and blues are so lovely Helen.
Beautiful quilts and tulips, stunning little grape hyacinths and just look at all those wonderful snowdrops!! ❤️ 🤍 💙
I just love all your little cross stitch projects (I'm about to start your radishes design, they remind me so much of Peter Rabbit) and I can't wait to see what you make with your Jubilee fabric. :)
Happy weekend and stay cosy,
V x

Beautiful glimpses of your world, Helen. Snowdrops really are the perfect flowers, and such welcome harbingers of a season that leads to spring.

You have some beautiful blooms to enjoy. Happy stitching with your new fabrics and hopefully the storm doesn't play too much havoc in your area. I'm in Australia and it's certainly made the news here.
