Hello and happy november everyone......we went on a lovely day out this week and here are some pictures to share with you (just click on the photos to enlarge them if you'd like to)......this is erddig hall in north wales (about a 40 minutes drive for us)......it was built during the 17th and 18 centuries and is one of our favourite places to visit and to walk in the grounds and gardens.....
........the gardens were bright and colourful and it was a very sunny day with blue sky as you can see....
..........the house was partly open this time......just the servants' quarters which are my favourites.....
..........love the aprons hanging up.......i always enjoy seeing dairies and sculleries......
.........as well as laundries......love the old textiles often on display......
.....love the sense of the past and the history of the house.......you can find out more about it here......
..........the pattern of tiles on this floor is exactly like a quilt.......
.........this greenhouse is full of winter pansies getting ready for planting out.......
.....we went into the cafe for some lunch and bought a couple of things in the gift shop....its always a pleasure to support the national trust and we love visiting these properties......
.........heading home along the lane between the autumn leaves.........home to my quilt which i have almost finished hand quilting......i hope to show it all finished very soon.....think it's one of my favourites......

What a wonderful place to visit .. I love visiting old properties too, especially the gardens ... that greenhouse is amazing!!
I love your beautiful new quilt Helen.:)
Happy weekend lovely,
V x
Great trip, wonderful pictures. A drying rack would be nice in every home. Imagine the positive impact on the planet if we were to use drying racks.
Really enjoyed your photos Helen and I can see why you love that beautiful quilt

A favourite place for us too.Just love Erddig. Not far from us either.
What a lovely place for an outing. I enjoy seeing how other people live (or lived), too. The textiles are beautiful.
Enjoy your weekend.
What a lovely place to visit .
Thanks for sharing .
The quilt look beautiful.
Love this post! I too love visiting the 'past' places of how everyone lived at one time. So much lovely, old history in your country. We used to have a pioneer type village close by that we would visit with our children when they were younger. Often they would have actors acting out scenes from the past. We always enjoyed experiencing this.
Your quilt is beautiful with the pretty hand stitching you are doing on it. Enjoy your weekend, Helen!
this was a lovely adventure Helen, thank you for sharing some snaps
Your quilt is so cute. I love the quilted patches. This looks like it had a lot of careful attention!
Stupendo il luogo che avete visitato, la casa e lo splendido giardino.
Bella la tua trapunta.
You definitely had a nice outing - that place is gorgeous! Your country has so much history... we only have old western towns or old mining towns, except along the east coast. Your quilt is coming along nicely and it's just beautiful. All those pansies in that greenhouse were so colorful too. Reminds me I should be outside planing my spring bulbs! Have a nice weekend.. Marilyn
I always love visiting the National Trust homes and gardens, they are so beautifully looked after and the history is marvellous. Beautiful quilt in progress Helen.... your quilting is perfection! Hugs Christine xx
