Strawberry Hearts

Another week here in our home and some more pictures to share with you dear readers.............this is my strawberry hearts quilt which i made over ten years ago and showed first here on my blog.....
............people have often asked if there is a pattern for this quilt and now there is.....
.........and it can be found in my etsy shop (link in sidebar).........this quilt was made with some of my favourite cath kidston fabrics of the time including the strawberries on blue print which gave the quilt its name and also became my logo both here and on instagram......
............this quilt has lots of different hearts in varying sizes.....it has worn well over the years, and i'm glad to have finally written a pattern for it.....
...........i've been busy in the garden again.....here is the first clematis i planted last year in my little cottage garden now in flower against the white picket fence.....
........and in the greenhouse there are cuttings from geraniums, pelargoniums and tiny bellis daisy plants grown from splitting the bigger plants that were still growing in the garden....v excited about growing these new little bellis daisies..............also lots of seeds growing which you can't see in this picture......
...............one of our recent sunny walks...........this is an old disused railway line which became a lovely walk way edged with trees and wild flowers...........
...........when i found this partly finished needlebook made from pretty japanese fabrics i just had to stop and finish it...........
...........it's funny what you find when you are looking for something else...well, in my sewing room/studio/house that is :)........
.............this week i got some flour....quite an exciting moment many of you will agree.....my daughter found it in the farm shop and brought me a bag so i was able to bake these mini carrot cakes....they tasted lovely...
............a little garden view complete with beehive, bluebells, daisies, tulips, alpine flowers trough, and rusty metal candle holder for those balmy summer evenings...........and below is some of our apple blossom..........just love it.....lots of bees do too and it's been very peaceful watching them.....
.........thank you for dropping by to see me here lovely readers and for your kind comments......i hope you are keeping well and safe during this strange time, and finding happy moments and creative inspirations to keep you cheerful............wishing you well till next time lovelies......back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Your garden is looking quite lovely with so many pretty blooms. I love your heart quilt and the fabrics you used. I'm a sucker for anything Cath Kidston and really enjoying visiting one of the stores when we were in London a couple of years ago. Enjoy your week :)

Such a beautiful quilt Helen!
I've been using that CK fabric myself this week for a little someone and today I've been trying to keep my little bellis daisies that I planted in the autumn going by replanting ... great minds!! :)
Your garden is looking so lovely and I just love that little needle book!
Enjoy your week lovely,

Dear Helen, you have created such a garden of Eden there at your home! This confinement has encouraged a lot of people to "feather their nest", don't you agree? Someday I will have to find some Bellis Daisies of my own. I will think of them as Helen Daisies. :-) Hang in there and take care. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Lovely Strawberry Heart Quilt - and from 10 years ago - how precious. Love seeing all of your beautiful flowers. We have wanted to plant a Clematis near our back porch - maybe this year :) - I've missed many of our flowers from our previous home, but slowly, slowly we are building our flower gardens here. Enjoy your day, and your lovely walks, Helen!

Your garden looks stunning .
It lovely to find things we have forgotten about. They bring back lots of memories.
One of my favourite quilt is the star quilt I made from one of your books . It was made by hand.l dyed all the fabric myself such an achievement .
Thanks for all the inspiration you give.

I have always loved that quilt and especially the red striped border...stunning! The pattern will go on my list of things to buy/make! Stitch Maynia has drained my budget this month! LOL!
What lovely places you have to walk and your flowers are so pretty! Take care and stay well! P.S. I love your needle book and all your sweet little trinkets laying there next to it.

Such a pretty quilt! The fabrics you used are gorgeous together.
We've had a shortage of flour here in the US too....everybody suddenly decided to bake! Flour is back on the shelves but sadly if you want to bake bread, there's no yeast to be found anywhere.
Your garden is always a delight to see.
Safe safe and healthy.

Oh such a pretty quilt with all the hearts! One of these days I will relearn how to do hand applique. It looks so wonderful and "old fashioned". I love the look. Your colors of flowers are all so pretty and love your white picket fence so much! Oh.. and the carrot cake muffins look devine! xoxo Marilyn

I love the quilt, its perfect for spring!

We have flour here in Chicago, but yeast is super hard to find. I've found a few recipes for bread making that doesn't require it. When I spot fresh made bread at the grocer, I buy a bit and freeze it in six or more slices. Wonderful, especially toasted.

Be safe, my friend.
