Bluebell Time

Hello lovely readers......it's bluebell time again here and there are bunches in little jars and jugs all around our house......
..........all these bluebells came from a wild bit of our own garden................
...........as you can see below.......the bench here is not that old but it has not fared well being left out in all weathers and is very rusty and rickety now.....however i am keeping it a bit longer for my photo shoots.....
.................like this one with my gather the flowers quilt............
...........the pinks and blues in this quilt remind me of my favourite flower colours....though of course i love them all really..................
.............and despite having a garden full of yellow and orange tulips last year when i thought i'd planted pink ones.....here are some pink ones this time :).............
...........on one of our daily walks we found some gorgeous blossom......two trees mingling....
..............not sure what type this is.....i tried to look it up but didn't reach any conclusion....looks a bit like apple blossom but too many petals...........so will have to go back and see if it has fruit later in the year........unless anyone recognises it and can tell me?
 .............more blossomy close ups..............
..............love the deep pink becoming paler as the flowers open............
...............latest fabric play is this piece of patchwork and fabric collage.......this is for a project bag......lots of things still to add and quilting to do but it is really fun to make.......
..............thank you for dropping by to see me here dear readers......and a special thank you to those who take the time to leave me a sweet comment and let me know you are there, that is so much appreciated :)........i hope you are all keeping well and safe and finding some crafty inspirations during this strange quarantine time.........enjoy all the small things each day and take care lovelies........back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh those bluebells are so pretty! And I really do love that garden bench.. painted another color? or white again? it adds such a lovely backdrop to your quilt! And I love the fabric collage bag you are making. I wish I could get myself to try some hand applique.. just seems like whenever I try to sit and do handwork in "my chair", all the cats feel like they need to jump up and sit there with me! So I tend NOT to do any handwork! I HAVE started crocheting a baby blanket though for new twin great nephews coming very soon (one for each) so I have to sneak that in "between cats"!! Your garden is just so wonderous... I would love one similar with the picket fence, bench and pink tulips! Marilyn

Hello Helen! Oh how I love your photos in the garden on the bench of your gorgeous quilt! I actually like the bench as is, rust and all. It looks so natural. I have a patch of Bluebells out in my garden.. I think today would be a good day to pick a bouquet! You inspire me, always. We planted tomatoes, a pepper and 8 lettuces yesterday, soon I will use my trug (inspired by yours) to harvest them for a salad. I'm crocheting a flower garland, nearly ready to crochet them all together. Sending good wishes your way... ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Such pretty bluebells and tulips. Ours are blooming, too, and cutting little posies for the house is such a fun thing to do. Pretty projects you are working on.

Good morning, it is a wondrous time of year. The one blessing of this quarantine has been the very untypical weather. I think the sunshine has made it possible to be out and about a little each day. Especially for those without gardens. I think your blossom is crab apple. Keep an eye on them they are wondrous for making jellies in the autumn. I used to use them as a basis for herb jellies, like mint and sage jelly.
Have a beautiful crafty week. Keep safe
Regards
Peta-Ann

how lovely the blossom is, I think the other commenters are right and it's crab apple. Despite having loads of bluebells in the woods, not one has made its way over the fence into my garden!

We had a sniff of a huge lilac bush on our walk today - beautiful. I like the look of the project bag - my kind of thing. Stay well. Jo xx
