Pink Hearts

Hello again lovely readers......we have lots of pictures of my new pink hearts quilt this week......
............this is made from my heartstrings quilt pattern (in my etsy shop link in bio).....
...........i finished hand quilting this last week but was busy with other work and a lovely half term outing with my younger daughter and her family so it wasn't till the weekend that i made the binding.....
...........i took these pictures on my worktable on a cosy sunday .....with coffee and candles....
............some earlier pictures while the quilting was being done.....
..............helped along by some tiny chocolate eggs...........
............this is one of my favourite quilts both to sew and to use........
...........choosing the fabrics is fun and it's great for using up scraps......now i want to make another version.....maybe brights...or blues.....or greens?....
............also new is this drawstring bag made with the tilda old rose fabric collection.....
............can't have too many of these....both pretty and practical..........
............(the pattern for the drawstring bag is also in my etsy shop)......the flowers here are faux ones....looking forward to buying a new bunch of tulips when i do my shopping tomorrow though....
...........cosy here still....we did have some sunshine and blue sky today which was gorgeous...but the temperatures are still low and the wind is cold.....thank you dear readers for dropping by to my little blog space and for the kind comments you leave me....it's always a pleasure to hear from you......wishing you a wonderful week with sunny days, happy times and plenty of crafty inspiration....back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The quilt is lovely; the colors are perfect, making a person think spring is coming soon. Did you needle turn applique the hearts?

It is a truly beautiful quilt Helen, all those pretty little appliquéd hearts.
I love the little bag, I have so many little bits that would make gorgeous little bags especially for my girlies.
Some new tulips for me tomorrow too, mine are looking a little sad now.
Happy week my friend,
V x

Sorry about the chilly drafty cold weather. I live on the east coast of US and we are having the same weather. COLDDDD and wind and some rain to make the paths muddy. I can't take my 96 year old daddy to the park, so we end up loitering around small shops, the mall some days, or just stay in and watch old movies dad made with his movie camera, travels around the world with mom. It is nice to see my mom.

Oh: I meant to add something, and also let you know that your weather is coming directly from NE US, it zips right up the Atlantic.

And: your quilt is adorable

Hello dear Helen.. what a beautiful heart quilt. I also agree, you can't have too many drawstring bags, so good for shopping, gift giving and storing things. I think you should do brights on a 2nd heart quilt using lots of red! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I adore that quilt! I always love all the fabrics that you chose. You have the prettiest "scraps" of anyone I know! I have still yet to make your drawstring bag. I am organizing and cleaning my crafts room so hopefully that will enable me to get more sewing done! Have a great week!

Really enjoyed seeing more of your heart quilt. Love the fussy-cut centres and extra applique embellishments on some - and the pretty hand quilting around each - so special! Cute patchwork bags - so soft looking with these Tilda fabrics. Enjoy filling your home with some tulips. We are still enjoying our Lanterns filled with tiny lights in our Livingroom, especially as more snow is to come - this keeps it more cozy :)!

Hi Helen. The heart strings quilt is beautiful, and I can see why it is one of your favorites to use. I felt a little nervous when I saw he coffee cup resting on it! But I say yes to coffee, chocolate, hearts, and handmade. Thanks for sharing and adding beauty to our lives. Alexine

Your heart quilt is just "the cat's meow" as my aunt would have said! And that red checkered binding will just be adorable on it! Who would think to put red with all that pink? you would and it's adorable! And I love drawstring bags too.. I have a "thing" for them and love making them.... they are so handy to have for all sorts of things. I keep some art supplies in one, that I can take with me whenever I go on a little trip, plus another holds on the go sewing supplies to make little fabric flowers. We are at the moment here in Oregon having some warm almost spring-like weather. It's a real teaser as could get snow next week! Take care... Marilyn

Your heart quilt is gorgeous, Helen, and I'm sure that whatever color you decide to do the next one, it will be wonderful too!
