It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like............

Christmas.......yes it really is.....and welcome dear readers to my little festive bit of blogland today...

........earlier this year i painted these carved wooden bookshelves we've had for years....i chose cooking apple green and when the paint was dry stacked some quilts on them.......now they have been decorated in christmas style......with red and white quilts and vintage santa mugs and other festive decorations like my little patchwork bird (pattern in my etsy shop link in sidebar)................

.........thanks to a spell of icy frosty weather i was able to take some wintry quilt pictures.....

.........on the cottage garden picket fence.......

.........with a weak winter sun shining and freezing temperatures.......

.........i hung up the spinning tops quilt (pattern in my etsy shop as before)........

.......styled with a berry wreath and a christmas tree in a pot........

.........and then back into the warmth of the house for a nice hot drink in a santa mug........

........although wildlife photography is not my forte :)) i had to include this picture of a beautiful little robin that i took on a walk.......such an emblem of christmas here in the uk.........

..........we've put up all our christmas trees and here is a glimpse of the red and white decorated tree in the sitting room in front of the quilt cupboard....

........one more shot of my merry santa shelves........having fun tidying and decorating the house ready for the family being here soon........still lots to do but i started early this year so hope to be fully organised ;)............
