Star Gazer Quilt

Happy new week dear blog friends.............here is my recently finished star gazer quilt hanging on my quilt cupboard door......it was such a pleasure to make this design and to hand quilt it........
...............it was named for all the star gazing hubby and i did on warm lockdown nights sitting out on the patio.......
.............i used soft reds for the applique stars and a small starry print in two different colour ways for the applique circles......the background squares were pale prints and blue and white stripes..........mostly my favourite colours for quilts :).................
...........the hand quilting was simple..........straight lines and round the shapes......
............some flowers to match......and a hera marker that i sometimes use for marking the quilting lines....i also use a frixion pen for marking too.........
...........a nice cup of tea in my star decorated blue mug............
.............and here at the last stage.............sewing down the striped binding...........
............this is a lovely quilt for summertime............but the red stars make it cheery and suitable for all year round too..............here it is on the white rocking chair.......
.............and with one of my favourite geranium plants...........the star gazer quilt pattern is available now in my etsy shop link in sidebar......
..........today i have mostly been gardening out in the blustery but warm air.......lots of cutting back needed in the cottage garden......and because of the high winds this week lots of leaf and other tree debris to pick up........
...............a tiny brown butterfly was sunning itself on the picket fence............so pretty.....
..............thank you for visiting me here dear readers and for all your kind comments......i hope you are having a happy week with sunny days and lots of crafty inspirations..........take care and keep well......back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Beautiful ... it is mostly definitely a 'Helen' quilt with those pretty colours! :)
Yes the garden has needed a bit of tidying here too, the wind and rain is not very kind to cottage garden plants .... and just look at that gorgeous little butterfly, I heard Chris Packham on the radio today saying it was 'butterfly season'!!
Enjoy your week lovely,

I just love the patriotic look of this blanket! I'm a star lover so this is right up my alley. I named my sailboat "Stargazer" and also am a big fan of Stargazer lilies. What a treasure! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

This Stargazer quilt is just so so pretty! I'm amazed at how you handstitch all of your quilts! And your cottage garden is just wonderful.. I love the white picket fence.. and love the white rocking chair... doesn't any quilt look lovely draped over a white rocking chair?? Yes! thank you for all of your lovely inspiration. Here in Oregon we are having 102 degree temps. My poor flowers DON'T like it at all! Take care... Marilyn

I just love this adorable star quilt. I should make something like this for my new grand boy
Your gardens are wonderful. We are having a normal hot summer. Too hot for me. It is dry too, so I need to water my plants.
Stay happy and well

Love this beautiful Summery quilt Helen. Your cottage garden always looks lovely and I love the picket fence! What a pretty little butterfly were you able to identify it? We have had lots in our garden this year and it has been fun trying to identify all the different species. Enjoy the rest of your week! Christine xx

Another beautiful quilt. It will bring back lots of memories in years to come - of the beauty you found even in the midst of the pandemic.
