Hearts and Home

Happy new week dear blog friends......it's a cold and blustery start here.......hard to leave our cosy bed in the morning but nice to start with a hot cup of tea and a little bit of reading.....above is my heartstrings quilt (pattern in my etsy shop link in sidebar)...........
............and here is a new version in pink.............
............lots of my favourite pink scraps in this one, and as in the original quilt a mix of low volume fabrics for the background squares.............i am also adding some embellishments to this one......it will be nice for valentine's day......
.............i've also been knitting socks having learnt over the past year or so and made quite a few pairs for my husband who loves them :)..........below is one being knitted for me in zigzag yarn colour:pinks.........i use the excellent pattern by winwick mum ........
..............the sweet buttons and adorable spool stitch marker were from my lovely friend vivienne at green rabbit designs here......
...........and the next thing to show you is a whole lot of bright and cheery hexies for an english paper pieced random hexie quilt............
.............i love making these and adding a few hexies to the pile when i get a few spare moments....
............this will be the first random hexie quilt i've made in years and years although hexagons were the first shape i ever used in patchwork many moons ago.....
...............more hearts on this cosy little doll's quilt......the same hearts as the heartstrings quilt, just a mini version.........sometimes i hang it up as a valentine wall hanging.....
..............this little cloth doll is going to be a new pattern very soon, including her clothes......
..........the tiny bunny pattern is already in my etsy shop....might make some more of these in time for easter.....lots of cosy projects to keep me busy on these chilly winter days......
..............thank you for dropping by dear readers............and for your kind comments...........wishing you a happy, cheery, crafty week ahead........keep cosy......back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What a delightful post Helen! Every single one of your quilts is absolutely beautiful!! I love the hexies ... that little carrot one really stands out, I think I must have been a rabbit in a former life! :)
Gorgeous knitting too, I really need to get some more socks knitted, I have to be honest though I cannot for the life of me use the tiny circulars, dpn's for me. :)
Looking forward to seeing the little dolly!
Happy new week my dear,

Beautiful, beautiful heart quilt! I love hearts too. Do you applique them by hand or machine? Needle turn? I've not done that but need/want to learn. The doll and little bunny are so sweet!
I didn't know you knit. I always cast on a pair of Christmas socks on Christmas Eve to have for the next year's Christmas. I love your yarn!
I also do magic loop and my favorite pattern is Cherry Heart's My First Socks?
Oh, the hexies! I love hexies and I need to drag mine out that got put aside this past summer. I'm starting to get back in the swing of things and quilting too! I just read a lot of info on how to organize and cut scraps for quilting. I have a ways to go and need to add to my stash....of course! Love your posts as always...you are so inspiring!

Ahh the heart quilt. So sweet. I've never learnt to knit. I didn't abit in uni but got bored. I just don't have the patience. I've just started making hexagons for a quilt. I have sooo much fabric to use it. I also spend alot of time in bed due to chronic illness so i thought it would be perfect to sew in bed x

Such a cozy post, full of pretty things. Your heart quilts are so pretty. It's a snow day here and I've spent a couple of hours at the sewing machine, just having fun. It's so good.
