Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all my lovely blog friends..........wishing you all a wonderful 2018 and hoping you will join me here again for another crafty year of making and sharing............
..........today we are de christmassing the house which means lots of trekking up and down the stairs of our three storey house with boxes, baskets of decorations and trees...........
............and dusting and sorting out the bare looking shelves and finding (always) a few decorations we missed.......we had a lovely family christmas and it was a pleasure to see the grandchildren enjoying all the excitement and fun.......i hope you enjoyed your christmas too and have had a happy holiday time......
............here is one of my sweet surprise presents.......my kind husband bought this little white dog for me from the very talented northfield primitives...........
.................such a sweet little face........another precious one to add to my collection.....
.............here is my project in the latest issue of handmade magazine australia........i love making hexie quilts and hand sewing them using english paper piecing like this......
.............this is my newest little bunny made for my newest sweet little grandson louis......
...............this bunny was finished just in time for christmas .............
..........he doesn't have a name yet (might be bobby though) but here he is with hector the bunny i made for rhys (louis' big bother) three years ago..........hector has been very well loved and is soft and squishy now and needed some little stitched repairs when we visited last week ;).......
............the bunny's sweater was made with yarn left over from a shawl i made for myself.....it's a sock yarn but i am afraid i have lost the label............
............looking forward to lots of new crafty makes this year, i am gathering inspiration and sketching ideas for lots of new projects, both for publication and for myself..........now it's time to enjoy the green things growing.........the bulbs and shoots of the new year and all the lovely spring days to look forward to......in the meantime i shall be keeping cosy with my quilts and knitting, books and tea, bright fires and glowing candlelight of this winter season..........
..............thank you dear readers for visiting me here all through 2017.....for your kind comments and support......thank you for sharing my bit of blogland.............wishing you all you wish for yourself in the coming year and sending love and hugs to you all...............back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Helen,
Happy New Year to you! I have put away my Christmas decorations and the house is back to normal. We are trying to stay warm and cozy inside with the frigid temps of below zero outside. I am looking forward to spring already, but will fill Jan and Feb with the many WIPs I have saved over the years, and hope to do some clearing out of closets and drawers.
Your little white dog is so sweet, what a thoughtful gift. I love the new hexie quilt and wish I had the patience to make one. As always your little rabbits are too cute, love the knitted sweaters.
Thank you for sharing.

Aw! I love the little bunny! I made a curtain this morning and as I was sitting at my little machine I looked over at your books and thought,"I must continue making!"
Take care and have a lovely creative year, Helen.

All the best for 2018 Helen! Your posts are always most enjoyable. We, too, are disassembling Christmas and for some reason the house doesn't look quite as bare as it usually does. k

Oh how I love the grandson's brother rabbits! Each has it's own personality. You're such a good grandmother! Your husband got you a darling doggie toy.. did he do that on his own or did you give him a hint? :-) We also spent time today stowing away the Christmas decorations and the tree.. I also have a lot of dusting to do now!

((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Happy New Year, Helen!
I still have to take down the Christmas decorations and as much as I want them away, I don't want that bare feeling that's left when they are gone!
Your bunnies are gorgeous and it's lovely to know that they have been well loved by your grandchildren.
All the best for 2018.

Happy New Year Helen
You are a warm and sincere person and your blog is a lovely cozy place that I always look forward to visiting every week. I am looking forward to another year of your crafting news, I have many projects in mind for the coming year and often enjoy the planning as much as the project itself.

Best wishes to you for 2018, Donna x

I have been busy de-Christmasing my home today, too. It is usually a melancholy time, but today was different. School doesn't resume until tomorrow, and the mama had to return to work today -- so I had three sweet grands to help me. I was pleased to completely empty my upstairs Christmas closet, sort through boxes and bags, and toss out a bunch of unused and unloved items/stuff. Feels so much better to have that done! The cedar tree will go into the lake to become fish habitat, and Christmas 2017 is now just some nice memories. Happy New Year, and please know that your blog posts always brighten my Mondays. I adore your use of color, although it doesn't come naturally to me to use it your way. I am so inspired and hope that eventually some of your talent will pass from the computer into my fingers and then into my brain. :)
