Autumn Potting Shed

We have been out in the autumnal garden a lot this weekend, taking down the sweetpea canes for another year, cutting back some of the plants and sweeping up fallen leaves........as well as pottering in the potting shed of course.................
...............we have lots of conkers this year and i have enjoyed collecting them as usual.........
..............and taking a few photos too, featuring my sweet bunch of roses which were a gift.........
..............i have filled the larger pots with autumn and winter flowering plants for some colour in the tiny courtyard outside out back door.............
............with lots of help from molly, who is not just the new sewing room dog but also the new garden dog............she might be very young, tiny and fluffy but she is an intrepid explorer and loves to push her way through the wilder bits of the garden and return covered in goose grass seeds or mud :).........mr p has fenced off the pond for now too............
.............over the weekend i spent a bit of time trying to sort out my indoor work spaces too.....lots of decorative materials to keep track of for all the projects i'm creating at the moment can mean a muddle and lots of time spent hunting for things..........
............so i am tidying up and putting things away in tins and baskets in an orderly way ;).....
..........making sure i remember where i have put the things i have tidied away;).............
                                          ................roses in the sewing room.............
.............and all the plants potted up now.............
...............so it is time to get down to some work for this busy week..........
.............i have sharpened my pencils, filled the paint water jar with clean water, got out the new paper crafting supplies..........and ironed lots of fabrics.............
...........and made a new flower pincushion to use for my new projects............i can't have too many pincushions around the place............and little scissors too........in a moment i will be off to make a start......or maybe just have a quick cup of coffee first?...................
...........thank you for visiting me here, dear readers, and for your sweet comments which are a joy to receive........i look forward to popping in to visit you too over the coming week........wishing you all happy autumn days with lots of crafty inspirations...........back soon xxxxxxxxxxxooooooooxxxxxx

Hi Helen, I just took a break from garden work. Unfortunately my work is not as lovely as yours. Our garden is a real wildspot and I try to fight against spreading bearbind. But your photos look lovely! I love pink chrysanthemums and purple pansies. Maybe I should also take my bike to the flower shop to buy some autumn flowering plants. It looks so nice how you arranged your pots. Have a good creative week, Viola

Hallo Helen,
schön sehen deine Blumen aus. Ich mag auch diese Herbstsachen sehr gerne, es ist eine schöne Jahreszeit. Das Nadelkissen sieht hübsch aus. Ich habe die gleiche Schere, witzig.

Hi Helen. I look forward to your posts every week. They are beautiful, cheerful, and inspirational. A happy place in our often crazy world. When I need a "Helen fix" I read older posts before I discovered your blog. :)

My little cottage is showing signs of inspiration from you. A colorful hexagon mat on my coffee table. A fabric apple I made from a magazine I found the day after your post. How fun that was. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for brightening up my world. :)

What a beautiful pincushion, so nice. In the moment is a lot to do in the autumn garden, but I love dooing this work and thinking for the next year, when all tulips and other bulbs are flowering.

The plants are so pretty, I especially like the mums!

Molly is shaping up to be a most useful dog - a sewing room dog AND garden dog - that is certainly devotion to duty ;)

Have a lovely week, Helenxx

Molly is so cute. You are very organised - both outdoors and indoors. Whenever I put things away I end up forgetting where I put them. And I find that I can't decide what is the best way to organise all my craft items. So many things could go in more than one category!

I don't have a garden here in Italy but I always take an interest in looking at other peoples gardens......and envy you all......and as for pin cushions I have quite a few myself but as I work I have the habit of just putting them down on the table and have to gather them up afterwards...I suppose it is just habit...ciao Alison

Dear Sweet Helen, your post is so pretty . . . I had to blow each photo up so that I could take in every detail. I love everything that I see, and that little sign that read "I'm in the Garden" inspired me. As big as our new place is, I should make some signs like that to put on the door. I have already had friends say that they stopped by, when I wasn't home . . .only I was home, just not in the house:) They will be a fun project:) Thanks.
Have a lovely day.

Love the little pin cushion in blue with the pink gingham ribbon and scissors attached. I'm thinking that would make a lovely gift. (I have Christmas on the brain right now).
There's Miss Molly! So cute she is...like a little stuffie. Good for her too, we need more female adventurers!
I too have been needing to tidy up my crafting supplies and equipment as it gets all over the house and then I can't find things when I need them. I get so mad at myself for allowing that to happen and always swear..."never again" but of course it happens again and again! LOL! But we try and that's what counts.
I wish I had a potting shed...I have a potting porch instead and a basement. Lovely flowers and shed. I better get to work myself! Toodles!
