Patchwork and a Heatwave

Happy new week lovely readers................it's a patchwork week here at my house...lots of it...beginning with this little cushion made with english paper pieced diamonds which i showed you recently as a work in progress......i stitched most of it when we were in norfolk...............
............i used a pale grey polka dot fabric for the backing..........
...........i love the yuwa fabrics used in this patchwork..........and as there were some scraps left over on my cutting table i decided to use them up and made some tiny fishes...........
.............such pretty soft colours.............and i always love a stripe or two.............
................the sweetpeas in my last post were snipped and brought into the house to enjoy......
..............i even had some next to my sewing machine so i could savour the scent....just gorgeous..
...............some patchwork being sewn....in sweetpea-like shades......
..........these flowers look beautiful in any container including an old jam jar.....but i do love them in a susie watson spotty jug.....the small neck of the jug holds them so nicely....
................last week we had a heatwave here....it was no fun at all.....just soaring temperatures and humid days and nights......the heat was so intense and unrelenting that it was hard to get anything done....(and we aren't used to it here in the uk!) ......the coolest place in our victorian house is the cellar which is always icy cold so a good place for a cool down......
............anyway the heat passed and little molly our dog has stopped panting now.....and the pretty summer quilts are back on the beds..........
.............this is my farmer's wife quilt from a few years ago......with jack rabbit on the bedside table...
............thank you for visiting me here dear readers and for your kind comments........wishing you a wonderful week ahead with sunny days (but not too hot!), sweet flowers and some lovely crafty inspirations too..............back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Helen.
Wasn't hot so hard to get anything done. I spent most of my day sat under a tree in our garden.
Not much sewing or crotchet got done.
I have admired your farmers wife quilt for such a long time, I have started my own it will be a long process. Too many projects on the go.
Your cushion looks so pretty and what a nice way to use your smaller pieces of fabric making coordinating fish.
Have a lovely week.

Such a pretty cushion Helen! ❤️💙
Love all the sweet pea colours both fabric and floral, they're such a lovely summer flower, I love how all of a sudden you can catch their scent as the air moves in your home, such a pleasure!
That does look a very inviting bed.
Happy new week lovely,
V x

I've been hearing you're having unusually hot weather over your way, it's scary to think of climate change and how it's going to get hotter and hotter. I love all your pretty pastels, they match your sweet smelling Sweet Peas. ((hugs)), Teresa

Oh Helen, your pillow is beautiful.. and the quilt to go with it.
EPP is fun. I can take my project with me when I take daddy to his doctor appointments, or when I have to be somewhere and wait. Looking at your photos is always a treat for me.
Here in Virginia the weather is hot. I do not like warm weather... well, I have my limits and it seems Summer always exceeds that
Stay cool and comfy❤️
