Feeling Quilty

Here are some quilt pictures today - I have quite a few of them saved up to show you, it's hard to resist taking photos of them when they pose nicely for me. There are quilts all around us here, because not only do I love making them, I use them all the time too....
The house is filled with dappled sunlight again today - such beautiful sunny weather with blue skies and flowers blooming - it's hard to stay in and work - yesterday I took a sewing project into the garden...
I do try not to get side tracked though and actually start gardening...but sometimes you just find your self planting a few seeds, pulling a few weeds, tying a few sticks together to make the new bean canes....
These sweet creamy white narcissus grow under a tree part way down our garden, and each morning some of them are flattened to the ground, so I rescue them...maybe it's mr fox treading on them on his nightly prowl?...
Sometimes I actually do have a quilt on a bed....though more often than not they are just heaped here and there.....
This is a cross stitch cushion from my Home Sweet Home book....quilts mean home to me....
...some new hexies for the next patchwork project, made by hand so I can sew it in the garden and take it away with me...
And here are the first flowering tulips from the bulbs I planted in the autumn...yesterday I went outside with my cup of tea in the glorious spring sunshine and there they were all in bloom, all of a sudden...they are called Heart's Desire..such a perfect name! In a moment I am going to get back to work again...but first I'll just pop out and see how the garden is doing...
Thank you so much for visiting me here. I hope you are all enjoying a diamond day too...with that wonderful uplifting feeling that the first real days of spring bring to us all...back soon xxxx

What a beautiful sunshiny post!

Your quilts look so dreamy and lovely. I like the thought of quilts 'heaped here and there'!!!!

The sunshine has been quite glorious this week! It's so lovely to be outside in the garden with a cuppa!!!

Enjoy the rest of your day Helen!

The weather is glorious, isn't it just great being able to go out into the garden with a cup of tea!

I can see why they called this tulip 'heart's desire'..from a distance every two petals together form the outline of a heart..such a pretty one too! I adore your red and white quilt on the bed..stunning..of course your others are georgeous as well.

Hi Helen,
Ooh I can just imagine your house, with so many lovely polka dots and quilts, I would be in heaven! There is definitely something so homely and cosy about quilts, especially if you can snuggle up in them! Hope the sun continues to shine like this so we can all work in the garden, so much better than being stuck indoors all the time!

Dear Helen, what a lovely post! I love quilts and yours are the most beautiful! You must be very postive and happy person to make so joyful quilts!
'Feeling quilty'...I wrote that while ago but meant to say guilty (because I was sewing and not cleaning) - my sister noticed that mistake - but 'feeling quilty' suits to my sentence also, so I didn't mention it!
That's perfect to make hexies sitting in the sun! xxx Teje

Helen, your quilts are beautiful.I particularly love the one on your bed, I'm quite into red and white at the moment.
I'm the same in the garden, I'll go out with a good book or some crochet and within minutes it's abandoned for a more green fingered activity!

Hi Helen, I had to do a double take, I thought you post said feeling guilty and I was alarmed. Instead some lovely quilts. They are so beautiful, each one of them! I love the table cloth quilt, right now it is most Springlike and I am longing for that! Take care and have fun. xoRobin❤

Dear Helen, I like my friend Robin above, loved your play on words.. feeling quilty.. cute! Thanks for sharing your sunny Spring with me as I'm in cold, rainy, drippy Oregon and I'm rather beside myself in wanting Spring.

Hugs from Oregon, USA -- Teresa :-)

Your quilts are family heirlooms, Helen, but it's lovely, that they're in use! There's nothing more lovely than a lovely, made-with-love quilt around you, a cup of tea and a good book - sounds like a plan for tonight?

Happiest weekend!

Yours,
Mia

They are such lovely quilts Helen. I am sure each you have made has a memory behind it too. This week has been so glorious hasn't it...but you have beaten me with the tulips...mine are not quite yet in flower.
Have a wonderful weekend sewing and gardening,

Lovely, lovely, lovely. I'm very taken with the shot of the red quilt on the bed with the sunlight across the bottom. And your blue yarn looks very soft and so cosy.

Hi Helen. I am a beginner, started quilting for my new grand baby and now I'm hooked. I love your white and red quilt and was wanting to know what size squares you used. It looks so crisp and would be darling on my newest grand baby girls crib.
