Vintage Modern

Hello again dear readers......today there are lots of pictures around my home to show you....beginning with this view of the spare room white bed and checkerboard quilt with an exciting new addition......
.....this beautiful canvas print was kindly gifted to me by photowall......i love this iconic image and think the vintage modern style goes well with my quilts and other textiles.....photowall offers prints, murals and photo wallpapers too with the size you need.....so many fabulous images to choose from......
......this one suited the look i love...but there are many others i really liked too, in fact it was hard to choose from so many favourites......if you browse their site for inspiration for your home you can have a generous 25% off any photowall products until the end of february....by using my code helenphilipps25........
.........the vintage theme and the red white and blue look continues here in our attic......
......a couple of days were spent up here at the top of our tall old house having a little sort out....
.....it's so high up it's like being among the tree tops with the birds......
...........there are lovely views across the roof tops to the sea but i will save those pictures for another time....
........things in the attic....
..........lovely old frister and rossman sewing machine......
.........and the old wooden bed up here was made for my husband's grandparents when they got married  over 100 years ago.....the bed below is much newer (and more comfortable) and the new print really brings the room together now........

,

.........thank you for visiting me here lovely readers and for your kind comments......wishing you a happy valentine's day and a wonderful weekend.....keep well and take care lovelies....back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Awe your beautiful (tidy) attic and how wonderful being able to see the sea from up there. How lovely too having that bed as well, so much history. Aren't old sewing machines just amazing.
Love your new print and of course your gorgeous quilts.
Happy Valentines day Helen,

Helen, in case you do not "know" her, Amy Smart of Utah, a quilt and fabric designer with a particular love of all things UK, has just recently designed a quilt featuring the Union Jack. Her new fabric line is called Notting Hill, and she designed the Union Jack to be used with it. Amy spent a year living in London and has returned a few times. She is a delightful quilting inspiration to me and many others, very positive and generous and keeps things mostly simple. I love your post and the photos of your attic. My sewing room is in my upstairs, and I love the feeling of being in the treetops. But I cannot see the sea from my big window, only the beautiful Ozarks hills of home. Thank you for ALWAYS brightening my day when I get your updates. So fresh and lovely and happy.

I love red and quilts so the one on your bed is just my thing! I also adore your "love token" pillows in your previous post ♥

Your home always looks so beautiful and so tidy .
Do you ever make a mess when working ? my house looks a real mess when working .
I like to work in my craft room then I can shut the door , but some times I take my mess down stairs , at the moment no one visits so I can get away with it .
Have a wonderful weekend.

Your attic is just lovely, and sounds wonderful to putter around in. I grew up in a bungalow, but always wanted stairs up to a secret room, so would pile up a few chairs into the corner of my bedroom and pretend I was able to go up into a secret room :)! Your canvas print and lovely quilts and bed spread just make your whole house so pretty and cozy. Enjoy your weekend, Helen!

Hi dear Helen, the wall-hanging goes perfectly with all your red, white and blue quilts. I wish I had more empty wall-space for a hanging but as a painter my walls are filled with my own work. I love the little bird house painted in stripes and stars. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Helen, this is where Amy Smart talks about her Union Jack quilt block pattern.

Your guest room is a most welcoming place. The Union Jack wall art coordinates so well with your quilts. How lovely to see the sea from your top window. We can catch glimpses of it here, too, from our upstairs window.

How you brighten my day Helen... a day which has unfortunately been quite depressing! Thank goodness for my blogfriends and all the gorgeous things I see and read about on blogs like yours :-) What a lovely guest room really adorable and having a sea view is definitely a plus! keep well. Amanda x
