Merry and Bright Stitchery

Happy December dear readers......'tis the season for some bright and festive sewing..........here is the applique berry pot block being hand quilted.........
............and one of my favourite English paper pieced stars made into an ornament.....
...........lots of starry twinkle lights here too to add to the festive feel.......
............a few weeks ago my elder daughter and i went to a blogger event at inspirations......it was a gorgeous evening with so much to see and enjoy on every kind of christmas theme beautifully laid out and inspiring......i loved the pink nutcracker :).......
..............and it's where i got my reindeer rd sign too which i showed you recently.....more of this (and snowman avenue) when i put the signs up in our house!......
............here's a little deer inspired log cabin block to add to my work in progress quilt....
...........after a couple of weeks of dull, wet and dreary weather we were blessed at the weekend with a bright and frosty day......
............we walked by the sea in our little town......
................here's molly (glad of her naturally woolly coat as it was freezing despite the sunshine)...
..........also at the weekend we got out the decorations, put up the outside christmas lights and dressed the two trees....a small red and white in the sitting room and a bigger one with pastel colours in the lounge (as i do each year)......lots of help from mr p, my daughter and grand daughter made it all quite quick and easy :) ......we had some tea and mince pies after to celebrate the season....
...........and a final sewing project is this little drawstring bag made from the pattern in my etsy shop but with smaller squares..........such a nice way to hold a gift and then reuse it i think......
...........that's my busy festive stitchery week.....now i have begun a new english paper pieced red star quilt...hope to have some progress on it soon .......wishing you a wonderful week ahead with happy cosy crafty times.........thanks for dropping by to see me here and for your sweet comments dear blog friends......back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Lovely! Embroidery in red has a joy of its own. The bottler brush trees are a favorite, so nostalgic. The Reindeer Road sign is fantastic! I'd keep it up all year.

I love all your sweet decorations! Are those little wool felted balls on the bag and in the mug? I love the reindeer block and the sign.... you have the prettiest decorations all over your home! Also the paper pieced star is an real eye catcher and will look lovely where ever it hangs. I adore the berry pot block and wouldn't it make a darling pot holder for gifting? I have gifts on the brain right now until after Christmas! LOL! Take care and stay warm!

I think your gift bag is a wonderful idea, not only to receive a surprise inside but then to use for years for this or that and even for shopping! You're so lucky to have the sea close to you, I have always wished I lived with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy your holiday decorated home. We have more work to do today. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I LOVE all the reds that you are using in your stitching and decorating. It is so festive and so pretty. You are so talented! The blog fair looks wonderful and of course, I love the pink nutcracker! If I dared... would I? decorate my house for Christmas in pinks??? Not sure hubby would love it.. but I may try one year. How wonderful to be able to walk to the ocean! And that gift bag is darling. I've been making cloth gift sacks for years for Christmas gift giving.. now me and me sisters try to make one or two new ones each year to make the rounds. It's so fun to get one back with a gift, that I made 10 years ago! Best wishes for the upcoming holiday! And I'm also thinking of what gifts I can make. Hugs.. Marilyn
