Seaside and Flowers

Happy new week everyone....and happy june too......here is my collage of pictures from may...such a lovely month and so much floral and seaside inspiration........
..............i made this new little striped beach house which makes a sweet seaside decoration.....
...........especially with other coastal collections of mine like shells, little boasts and seabirds....
.........and my much loved blue and white st ives sign brought back from our last visit there just a year ago........
.........and of course the fabric fish too.............the patterns for both the beach house and the fish are in my etsy shop now if you would like to do a bit of seaside sewing.............
.............as june begins all the roses begin to open here...............
............the scents are just gorgeous and i love being able to pick lots of posies..........
.............here's my little wooden trug (bought in the lake district) and perfect for gathering the flowers.........
..............the alliums are still blooming too and there are more to come......it only seems a moment ago that i was planting these in the autumn and hoping they would grow.....
...........here's my favourite rose....rather like a wild dog rose, it grows near the potting shed and has this bright candy pink colour.............
.............we had a lovely time with family this weekend and lots of fun with the little grandchildren......... we managed some time in the garden though the weather here wasn't the best......hoping for a sunny week ahead now...........(by the way for those of you who follow me on facebook too...i wasn't able to post on my fb page recently...don't know why it won't let me... but will keep trying!)......
.........thank you so much for dropping by and for your very kind comments lovely readers..........wishing you all a happy week with sunny days and lots of crafty inspirations.....back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Lovely photos, that is a charming basket. I like the use of the pom pom trim. I saved a length of it from an old tablecloth.

Love all the little nautical touches, especially that beautiful St Ives sign ...the little trug from the Lake District is also lovely, always nice to collect little things on holiday!
Like you my favourite roses are those which are closest to wild roses, so pretty.
Wishing you a lovely summery week and lets hope that breeze dies down.

Your photos are a delight to the eye beautiful flowers.
Your seaside collection is very atmospheric you all most feel by the beach...

I love your sea-inspired makes. I still would love to have a string of little fabric fish, maybe I could crochet some? I saw your trug and now I want one.. lol. We have some people in Oregon that make them out of wood you can only find in Oregon, Myrtlewood. I may have to order one! It would be good to collect eggs with, too! Enjoy your pretty flowers in your garden. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Wonderful photos, Helen. The little beach house is so cute and perfect for summer decor. Roses are beginning to bloom here, too and they are so very fragrant and wonderful! Happy June days to you.

So many pretty pictures! Your blog is always such a pleasure to visit. I have a rose just like that in my garden....it was on clearance in the supermarket for something like $3 and it's the best rose I have in the garden with soooo many blooms every year.

Love your beautiful seaside trinkets.... I'm making a nautical quilt at the moment I thought it would be fun to have something to remind me of the sea as we live so far away from the coast!! Can just imagine the beautiful scent of the roses... I love roses! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Christine xx
