Sunny Flowery Days

Happy new week dear readers..............hope you are having a good start.....here are some pretty flowers to begin my post, both real ones and floral fabrics too......
..............this is the patchwork i've begun with my tilda apple butter fabrics.....
.................it is having little red applique apples added to some of the squares.......and next up is a picture or two of the kitchen shelves 'we' put up recently.............made of scaffolding boards with victorian style black brackets they have a bit of an industrial feel............
.............they are so useful to hold all the things that don't fit in the cupboards and make it easy to tidy up the work tops.......
..............this week's flowers are from a little florist's shop in our small town......they stock some very pretty more unusual flowers like these tulips............
...............i added the tiny pink flowers to my bunch....i think they are called wax flowers .....but may be wrong ;).....
.................i love looking at these flowers especially as the tulips are opening now and revealing their wonderful ragged petals................
...........this week molly had her picture taken specially for 'love your pet day'.........though of course we love her to bits every day......
................progress is being made on the hand quilting of my latest quilt below....the stitching is helped along by having some mini eggs to dip into.............
.............we have done lots of gardening and everything is looking so fresh and bright in the early spring sunshine...........the cottage garden has masses of bulbs peeking through the soil and i'm looking forward to the flowers soon.....
................here are some of our crocus blooming in the flower bed beside the patio.......love these cheery little flowers and their pretty colours........we cleaned the greenhouse out yesterday and got all the seed trays ready to start sowing this week.........thank you for visiting my little blog space lovely readers and for you kind comments...it is a treat to hear from you......wishing you a wonderful week ahead with happy, crafty, sunny, flowery days.........................back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Your posts make me think of spring which feels so far off here in Illinois. No flowers whatsoever although I did pick up bouquets of tulips and Iris the other day. My little granddaughter helped me arrange them in vases and she said they look like lipstick! :)

I have similar shelves at the cottage on the lake. I keep the everyday dishes and mugs on them and it helps guests find what the need. I also have some treasures and you're right, they save room on the counters.

The quilt is looking lovely!! Happy gardening, Helen!

Helen,
Your teasing us with your lovely spring-time post. It is still winter here in Indiana, but some daffodils are trying very hard to push through the ground. I love the sweet raggedy edge tulips and of course your apple butter patchwork quilt. Not to mention that Molly is looking vert cute on the cozy bed quilt.
I can hardly wait to see your cottage garden in bloom.
Thank you for sharing.

Opps, I meant to write: You are teasing us ....

Yes I agree. What a tease you are!!! We are in the midst of a winter storm here in central Oregon.. right now we have 18" of snow and more expected tonight! I'm not a happy camper. Not a flower in sight of course and can't get to the store! Your little peeks of flowers and brightness are what I need today! xoxoo Marilyn

I guess if I had read your blog before making a comment I would have known you were early into spring. Not so here in Colorado. Its been several years since I have lived where there was a spring. We have gone from snow on Mother's Day to warm weather by Memorial Day. Thank you for sharing! God bless.

It's lovely to know that spring is coming somewhere in the world! Your crocuses are so pretty, as are all of your wonderful makes. Open shelving in the kitchen is so attractive. I love mine and enjoy rearranging things on it from time to time. Have a super good week!

Aren't we lucky to have such beautiful weather. All the spring flowers are pushing their heads above the soil. Your cottage garden is going to look wonderful can't wait to see it.
Your tilda quilt gorgeous I love the appliqued apples. I would never of thought to put them on a quilt.
Molly steals the show as usual such a cutie.

The wax flowers look like an Australian native, common name is a wax, you are right.

Lovely to have a catch up with your news, Helen. It is a snow flurry day here, so I especially appreciated all the flowers you have shared, along with your beautiful quilting projects. And I admire your pretty and practical new shelves. Please give sweet Molly some love pats from me. xx
