Happy September everyone............time for a new season and a fresh start for many with the new school year beginning......my own fresh start is that i am trying to sort out my house and be more organised.....
...............this room is a spare bedroom and i have kept a lot of children's toys in here for my grandchildren to play with..........i also do the ironing in here (though sometimes i don't actually do the ironing but let it remain in baskets waiting to be done)......
..............last week i began a bit of a tidy up and cleared lots of clutter, did the ironing, and hung up all the clothes......
...............then i spread out the farmer's wife quilt on the bed and arranged some white pillows and some pretty cushions..............
...............this sampler quilt is one of my favourites and i am part way through making blocks for another one.....
..............i have also been very busy recently making quilts for future magazine projects which is very exciting and a pleasure to do....but they have to stay secret for now, until publication next year when i will be sure to share them a lot..........
.............some quilts piled up....and an old sampler of mine, the one called *thomas tusser* from my very first book..............
.................sweet posy from the garden with a little bit of the recent dimity quilt..........
...............choosing softly coloured fabrics for a new applique quilt..........love choosing the fabrics from my stash or adding a few new ones by browsing online..............
................below is a pile of my old and new quilts............
..........i love to use them, display them and pile them up as part of my home decoration...........
..............there can never be enough quilts for me and i am always wanting to begin another.....below is the beginning of the last block of a new quilt that i hope to show very soon.....
.................thank you for dropping in to see me here dear readers and thank you so much to those of you who leave me a kind comment, it is such a pleasure to hear from you................wishing you a wonderful week ahead with happy crafty times and plenty of inspiration..........back soon xxxxxxx

Hi Helen
What lovely colours you have used in your quilt. It makes everything look fresh. I agree with you.
You can never have enough quilts. I've got three that are finished and two that are not finished yet.
Can't wait to here about your new projects.
Have a lovely week
Jacky
I really can't imagine that your home needs sorting out or organising Helen, it all looks pretty perfect to me. In fact with all those gorgeous quilts I could happily move in!!! Beautiful as always!
have a lovely week Helen,

So nice to take a peek into your lovely home. That sampler quilt is truly beautiful! When I think of the word "quilt" from now on, I will visualize this one...it's just charming!
I adore your sampler quilt Helen, so very pretty. I'm looking forward to seeing your new projects too.

It is so satisfying when sorting out a room, clearing it, tidying and then re-inventing it into something so gorgeous such as your spare room Helen. The colours are so feminine and restful and all the quilts that you have shown both finished and in production are beautifully gorgeous. Have a wonderful week x
How beautiful your quilt looks on the bed Helen. It must be so admired. It feels great to have a grand clear up doesn't it. Looking forward to seeing your projects as they get published. Happy September. Hugs xx
Oh how wonderful, Helen! That quilt is a masterpiece.. it would win a blue ribbon at the state fair here in Oregon! Your guest room is a magical place for your grandchildren.. especially with the pretty white dollhouse on top of the chest. I let my granddaughters play with my dollhouse and when I looked into it afterwards everything was in a whole different place.. LOL! I guess I need a day of dusting it and putting things to right. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Your quilts are all so beautiful! How many do you think you've made?

It has been just chilly enough the last few days we have been thinking more about blankets and quilts. Today is Labor Day and some of us cuddled underneath blankets while watching the UK film, "Me Before You." We passed a box of kleenex around, but laughed too, enjoyed the scenery and protested the conclusion. Cheers for you in all your tidying, ironing, and quilting! Happy crafting to you this week, as well, Helen! xxxxxxxxx
I remember you making your Farmer's Wife quilt Helen and it really is beautiful...it inspired me to buy the book which I really enjoyed reading ;-)
Looking forward to seeing all your new projects...x
Happy September!

I love, love, love your farmer's wife quilt! The colors are just perfect and so cheerful, as are all your creations.
Thank you so much for sharing and putting a sparkle into my evening!

I'm in love with all your quilts, Helen! all with beautiful colors and beautiful designs! this is a great treasure! Loooooooove it! Have a good day, Helen! and many thanks for sharing!
Dear Helen, not for the first time, as I look at this beautiful post, I begin to feel more and more like a real lazybones. You seem to accomplish so much ... so many beautiful creations.
(I did do a bit of apartment straightening out this past week, and am very happy with the result. I bet that no one else would even notice a difference! But, that's okay.)
Happy September! xo
The sampler quilt is just beautiful and so inspiring. Your colour choices are always inspiring and so happy :)
Happy September Helen! Your spare bedroom looks so beautiful with that lovely quilt on the bed.... A lovely space to do the ironing in! Have a wonderful week! Christine x
Quilt Love, that's sounds so perfectly cosy! Hi Helen, what a beautiful guest room you have! Autumn is a little in the air even it's still hot here and tommorow will be propably +40C, oh no! Thank you for a lovely moment in your blog! x Teje
What a lovely fresh spare bedroom, I wish ours looked like yours, maybe one day. It's so nice to clear a room and get the ironing done too, a bonus. Have a good crafting week Helen and take care.

Yay Quilts! I look forward to the magazines next year.
For now reading your blog and seeing the lovely pictures of the quilts you've done already is good.
This morning I was folding fabrics thinking about combinations, and how its time to just start sewing. :)
What a beautiful quilt! And as for the ironing, far better (and more enjoyable!) spending your time crafting :)
Hello, I like the sampler very much and your quilts as well. I have never seen your books in USA , however I was wondering if you would share how you make your quilts? All by hand , or do you machine piece and hand quilt ? Thanks
I love all those quilts but would never have the patience to make one! They certainly make a house look homely. Have a lovely week Helen. x
I love every one of your quilts! And the sampler quilt? gorgeous.... repeating here what everyone else said, but I so enjoy your posts.. no we can never have enough quilts and I need to finish my two UFO's!!! I've always found more fun and excitement in starting something NEW and that's why my "old" projects don't get done unfortunately... but one of these days I'll just do it. Happy September to you too.... we are having rain today here in Oregon for the first time in two months. It's quite a delight and now I have an excuse to stay indoors today and papercraft (I mean sew)!!!
Your "Farmer's Wife" quilt is so lovely. I haven't seen one made up using the soft pinks and reds like this and it is so soothing and perky at the same time. That room looks like a place to daydream.
Such a lovely quilt. Getting organized and clearing out are things I really need to do around here. But crochet is so much more fun. :)
Hello Helen, your spare room looks amazing, and the quilt is gorgeous. I love your little sampler too, and the dolls house. You give me a little bit of hope that you too can sometimes be disorganised! Lovely to visit you in your sunny corner. Lots of love, Linda xx P.S. look forward to seeing what's coming up next!
what a wonderful room - it looks so fresh and peaceful. Guests might never want to leave !
Oh, that quilt is just gorgeous!! Your talent amazes me, I truly wish I had it in me, but alas, my sewing skills are nil!
That quilt is so lovely. I need to do exactly what you have been doing but my son and his girlfriend are staying at the movement so once they have gone back to London, it's operation spare room. I have lots of toys building up for my grandson so they need to go somewhere! And he's only four months old! Lovely cheery post, thank you, Jane x
Your spare room looks lovely, Helen!
So many gorgeous quilts! I look forward to seeing your new projects.
Have a great week!

Your guest bedroom must be a wonderful place to be a guest!! A beautiful room to stay in or to play in! xx
I love your quilts, they are so beautiful! I was a bit laughing when I read: I am trying to sort out my house and be more organised... and '(though sometimes I don't actually do the ironing but let it remain in baskets waiting to be done)... (Deep sigh...) the same here. :-)
But your room looks very cozy now!
Greetings from Marijke
Oh those lucky grandchildren! how fabulous to stay in a room with your beautiful quilts and snuggle up with a teddy and maybe a pop out book.
I love those colors...that quilt all neat and tidy on that bed makes me want to snuggle right in. Especially since it is 10:10 pm and time for me to starting heading that way! Good night.

Ooooh, are those Tilda fabrics in that "last" block? They're so pretty -- I love the colors! Your blog is always such a breath of fresh air -- such beautiful pictures. I LOVE your sampler quilt on the bed -- it's just gorgeous!!!
Hi Helen, I think of your home as always being neat and organized based on the photos you share! I would never think it needed any work, but I'm sure they all do sometimes. The room looks very nice and the quilt is perfect because it's so sweet and colorful and creates such a nice focal point in there. I'm sure anyone will love to stay there when they visit. I think you should start taking boarders, we'd all like a chance. :)
So happy to see all your beautiful quilts displayed here Helen.I be been without internet for a while so really pleased to view your posts again. Happy September xxx
Everything is gorgeous! You have wonderful taste. :)
