Beside the Seaside

Here we are home from the seaside again............and lolly wore her striped sun dress for a lot of the time as we had some bright sunny days...........lots of sea breezes too, exciting for the sailing......
...............we love to stay in beaumaris, it is such a pretty little town and the colourful cottages looked prettier than ever this year.............

............this year we had baby rhys with us for the first time, and molly the dog too........they both seemed to enjoy their first visit very much :)..........i loved spending time with my daughters and their families as well as watching my hb sail his boat in the menai straits regatta............
.................we spent some time on the beach, collecting shells and looking for sea glass........charlie found me a special piece to keep for always :).............daisy found some little pebbles that we are going to paint bees on next week............below is baby rhys's first bucket and spade set....
............i love the bright colours of seaside toys..........and i love the wide blue skies at the coast....
.............i sewed some of this seaside flowers hexie quilt while staying here a few years ago......this time i was working on my lucky dip quilt which i showed here last time, and also i finished the border on my summer throw.....will show you that in a post very soon ........
.............i had a lovely time visiting the janet bell gallery and met up with lovely janet herself......and she took me to see her light and airy studio where i had a sneak peek at some of her new work....janet is creating some gorgeous new flower paintings ready for the *happiness exhibition* at the gallery opening on 19 September and featuring many other wonderful artists too..........find out more here......
...............i love the colours and freshness of janet's style, whatever subject she is painting.....
...............i came away with some treats :)........and now i have some treats for one of my lovely readers too, as it is time to announce the winner of my little lucky dip giveaway......i gathered together the following for my little holiday souvenir package.....three of janet's gorgeous seaside cards, a shell shaped china dish, three tiny soaps in nautical paper with a handmade decoration, some blue seed beads in a tiny bottle and a handful of real seashells.............
................and the winner is: christine barnsley of patchwork allsorts.......congratulations, christine, and if you would like to email me your address i will send your gifts to you :).......
..............thank you to every one who visits me here, and for the lovely comments too........it is always a pleasure to hear from you dear readers.........wishing you a happy sunny week with lots of crafty inspirations........back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Christine is a lucky girl! This looks like the loveliest of weeks :)
Love the mug too.
I'm a bit obsessed with the seaside at the moment - I've filled my little summerhouse with silly things like signs that say 'To the beach'! If only! I recently bought a cushion sporting a machine embroidered boat in a shop in Rhos-on-Sea for a very modest sum of money - the fish & chips in a nearby café were excellent too - just ask my little granddaughter!
Janet Bell's version of the Menai Bridge is lovely too!
This is a childhood nostalgia post for me ♥ Thank you Helen.

I saw your Facebook post this morning, been out all day and couldn't wait to get home just now to see your blog post. Oh I dearly love the colors today, the sail boats, the blue sky, the colorful beach toys. I love the beautiful quilt. And I also love the art work and wish I had some to hang on my walls for sure - my favorite colors. Glad Lolly and the children had fun at the beach, and you and your hubs with all your children gathered round.

What a happy time you had! I'm in love with Lolly's red striped summer beach dress. I want one too! I got to go to the beach here in Oregon a week ago.. the Oregon coast has such beauty, especially the southern coast. Have yet to find, though, a cute seaside village like what you have there. A quaint little village on the sea is "my cup of tea"!!
