In Bloom

There are lots of things in bloom here this week..............it is such a gorgeous time of year......
..............here is the paper pieced chrysanthemum block i showed you a while ago....now made into a summery cushion......i placed a piece of wadding behind the block and quilted round the shapes of the petals, then quilted a line of red decorative stitches round the outside of the flower......
...............besides this little applique pillow i also recently made one decorated with cross stitch for this month's issue of crafts beautiful magazine...........(there is a matching greeting card too).......

...............we will use the pillows on our garden seat this summer....i am imagining them together, sun dappled, looking pretty and comfortable while we sip cold drinks or have afternoon tea :)............
..............last week i was given a big bunch of roses..........such a lovely gift..........
..............i put some in the hall in a tall glass vase, and some on the kitchen table in a susie watson spotty jug..............
............i love to have flowers to look at all the time, and the kitchen table is a good place for a posy....
............the kitchen table is also where i do lots of activities like baking with my older grandchildren...... making flower shaped biscuits was fun last week..............
............a few were left to enjoy with a nice coffee later..........
...............when my youngest grandbaby stayed with us we got out the shape sorter toy to see if he liked it....and he did, very much...........he was quite fascinated............
...............he loved lying kicking on the storybook houses quilt too..........he has that gorgeous peachy bloom, so cuddly :)..................
.................this weekend was our little daisy's fifth birthday........she loves her namesake flowers so here are some daisies blooming in the garden.........there was 'frozen' party for lots of children and then a little family gathering yesterday..............a lot of cake with blue icing and white snowflakes has been enjoyed by us all............
.............now it is time for me to go back to work.......though of course as my job is my hobby and vice versa that is no hardship for me :)...............i love to create things all the time (and always have) sometimes drawing, painting, collaging, sometimes sewing, quilting, appliqueing or crocheting, as well as writing about these things too.....i don't mind what i am making but i always try to follow my heart to make things that inspire me, and hopefully others too................
..............thank you for dropping by, dear readers, and sharing a creative connection here with me in my little blog space.............wishing you a wonderful week with sunny days and happy crafty times...............back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxooooooooooooxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So much pretty floral inspiration today, I adore anything to do with flowers and gardens. I'm a bit worried about mine today as it so wet and windy here, hoping for some sunny days soon!

Helen, you cultivate such beauty with everything you do! I just wish you had a Pin It button on your photos because I'd be pinning away to my boards. Maybe I can figure out a way around it. I'd love to share this loveliness with everyone!

So many lovely summery things, just fab!

I would also love a Frozen Party, as long as I could belt out "Let it Go" at the top of my voice - I have that song on my mp3 player and often sing along to it, much to my children's disgust/disbelief - they have threatened to disown me!!

Hello Helen, thank heavens I can visit with you, were it is always sunny! The weather has been awful here, in fact last night the guinea pig and rabbit hutch blew over it was so wild!(They are both well, but Chester the rabbit was found out of the hutch hopping around the garden.) Your flowers are gorgeous, so uplifting to the spirits. You are a great source of inspiration Helen, always.I cannot believe Daisy is 5, where has that time gone? Belated birthday greetings! Your newest little one is just adorable. Love all your pretty makes. Have a happy week, love Linda xx

Helen, as always it is a delight to visit here and get a glimpse of what's been inspiring you, and what beautiful stitching you've been doing.

Can you imagine that NYC has turned chilly and rainy this week...I am actually wearing a cashmere sweater as I type this. On June 2...crazy, but cosy.

Those rose are the epitome of rosy loveliness. That adorable grandson has stolen my heart.

I do identify with what you've written about your hobby being your work and vice versa, and how you always enjoy all those various projects. For some weeks now, even when the weather was warming up, I've been working on a new fair isle garment I am designing for myself. Lots of experimenting, coloring of graph squares, lots of math, and best of all...lots of Fun.

What gorgeous roses! I love your pillow with the little cross stitch watering can and the chrysanthemum is so lovely. I like how you did the outline stitches too.
I'm so tired...outside work and running all "the girls" to the vet and I am tuckered out! LOL! I'm too tired by the end of the day to do much except some granny squares and winding some yarn for a pair of socks. It's nice to visit and see your projects. At least someone has some pretty things to look at! LOL!
Your new little grandson is growing! What a cutie and look at those beautiful cheeks. Babies are so precious...little angels from heaven!
Take care my friend and enjoy it all!
