Crafty Things

Now i'm feeling settled in to the newly organised studio because i've actually done some work in it...until i produce something creative in my new room (or new house if we move) it always feels a bit unfamiliar...
....new  crafty projects this week included some delicious ribbons and some shiny alpha beads....
and a very exciting new crafty aquisition has come my way from across the pond....when i saw the gorgeous dotty crochet hook made by the lovely Robin at my nest of yarn and buttons i just had to order one...
...and it arrived with an extra treat...this lovely little drawstring project bag and sewing up needle...what a lovely surprise and such a great idea to include with the crochet hook...you can order them from Robin's new etsy shop called Robin's Nest here.....
....i'm doing lots of my crochet blanket at the moment during the evenings....in the day i'm in my studio most of the time despite the glorious weather as i have some projects to finish for a deadline...
...these little bears are keeping me company as they appeared from the bottom of  a cardboard box after the grand sort out...they were book and magazine project bears from a few years ago....
...some autumn flowers to draw, picked from my very summery autumn garden this week...i love to paint a few fresh flowers and berries when the seasons change each year...this is the best Indian summer i can remember, and how wonderful to go for walks and see the trees changing colour and the berries glowing in such warm and sunny blue sky conditions....marvellous!
Hope you're having a great week wherever you are. Thank you so much for dropping in to see me and for the very sweet comments on my last post about my studio. I've got lots more crafty things coming up to show you....back soon. xxxxx

Dear Helen,

Your studio deserves a 'studio-warming' party!

I totally agree with you; it is marvellous to be out in the sun watching nature slide gracefully into autumn. Here the grapes have been picked earlier than past years due to the warm spring we all enjoyed. As soon as the grapes are picked the vine leaves turn so I am savouring those last days of vibrant green vine leaves.

Your teddies are delicious-looking and remind me unnervingly of Battenburg cake.... Yum!

Hi Helen, that is a rather special crochet hook, is it not? Well done starting creating in your new room. I think I would find it a little daunting, it's like when I buy myself a lovely book for making notes or drawing in, I hardly want to mark it, but once you begin, then it's easy. I agree with you about the berries, they are so lovely. We've had marvellous weather this week too. Enjoy your weekend, love Linda x

What lovely things!
I'm so glad those bears emerged from their hiding place - I want to make the pink one and an awful lot of crocheters (is there such a word?) will want a spotty hook too.
Can't wait to see what your next crafty thing will be.

Hi Helen..I always feel that I have to claim a space by using it too. When we move into a new house and garden I don't feel it is quite mine until I have dug into a patch of soil or cleaned the surface of the house. Once I have touched it, it becomes mine! They are gorgeous red berries in amongst your flowers.

Dear Helen, lovely post, my dear. Say, I'm thinking of getting some new watercolor paints - what do you use? I did a google search and found good things said about M. Graham watercolor paints and they have a nice kit of them with 2 Kolinsky brushes.. I'm very tempted.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Hello Helen,
Your studio looks beautiful so fresh and pretty. I have just finished painting my living room and am enjoying that newly decorated feeling. I love the watercolour flowers in the first photo, I hope you show a little more of your painting and those alpha beads look good enough to eat! x
