Snowdrop

Here is Snowdrop - the last in the set of three little spring bunnies I've been making. She was finished very recently, by having a big smile sewn on, and looks the most cheery of the three, I think...
This bunny painting is by the artist Racey Helps. It was a picture I had as a child and I delved into my memories box to find it and photograph part of it to include here....I think it could go some way to explaining my love of lots of rabbits all together, and my love of the seaside too! I used to adore looking at this picture when I was a little girl....I loved all the tiny details...and I still do.
Here is a closer view of Snowdrop's cardi, which fits her shape fairly well - you could call it very tightly fitted in fact, but that's her style! I quite like knitting these little garments and must look out for some fine wool in pretty colours to do some more....
Here they all are together - Flora, Snowdrop and Primrose all in their spring flower prints and cosy knits.
And here are some of the real snowdrops in our garden this week - they look so pretty, I'm always delighted when they come into flower. Each clump of snowdrops in this bed next to the gravel path,  is getting a bit bigger year by year, so hopefully they'll cover the ground soon. It was so sunny at the weekend we had some great walks and did some gardening too (well wrapped up though because the wind was still chilly) - but it's spring, the flowers are blooming and the birds are singing! Have a wonderful week everyone, and thanks for popping in to visit me here. xxx

I had a dwarf albino rabbit called Snowdrop as a child! She didn't have a lovely pink cardigan but her white coat was so soft. Thanks for prompting the memory.

I adore snowdrop and her cardi looks gorgeous, the picture of rabbits is delightful too, it's from my era as well! the snowdrops in the garden have done really well in my garden this year as well, I think we have that really harsh cold spot to thank.

I do love your delightful bunnies and the pretty pastel colours you use. So fresh and spring like. And how lucky are you to have snowdrops in bloom in your garden. Would you believe it... we still have almost half a meter of snow...?

Thank you for your lovely comments in my blog. They are truly appreciated. And I do love to see all the pretty colour you use. So inspiring!

Dear Helen, I adore your bunnies and understand how you'd have your affection for them having that adorable print to look at as a child. Do you sell your bunnies? Your friend in Oregon.. Teresa

Owwwwwhhh Helen she is such a sweetie. Her little cardi is perfect! They are such pretty Spring rabbits, you are very talented. So good to see a painting by Racey Helps, I still have books and wonderful playing cards of hers...that has inspired me to dig them out. They were a big part of my childhood and my Mum often bought me little books with her illustrations (as well as those by Margaret Tarrant, another favourite). Thanks for a such lovely post,
Jane x

I love the Racey Helps painting, I imagine each time you look at it you see something different. As for those little heart shaped buttons in the previous post - gasp!

Love your bunny sisters !
When I was a little girl I remember some picture blocks with similar scenes to your bunny painting, I think these things do lodge in our memory's and influence our pleasures throughout life.
Am very envious of your lovely clump of snowdrops, I have no success with them at all, I think the soil is too heavy or cold.

I remember the Medici books illustrated by Molly Brett which were full of cute little animals going about their daily life and I still have Hodge Podge The Guinea Pig by Racy Helps so I know where you're coming from :)

I have one little snowdrop out in the garden,a bird must have dropped the seed, because I didn't plant it! Must make a note to plant some for next year. :0)
