Lake District Days

Here i am again dear readers......refreshed from a very lovely break in the beautiful lake district.....
.........the scenery was more wonderful than ever and the bluebell woods were breathtaking....
.........we stayed in a cosy cottage and took my cottage garden quilt with us seen here on the window seat above........while below is another special cottage......dove cottage where the poet wordsworth and his sister dorothy lived......i've always loved dorothy's journals and am re reading them at the moment.....
..........inside the cottage, glimpses of the wordsworths' family and creative life........
..........we also visited hill top, beatrix potter's cosy home which we have been to many times before.....
........always a special place to see and this time my own bunny lettuce came along too.......
..........pictured in beatrix potter's actual kitchen garden with the watering can.....she was rather thrilled....
..........some of my treasured beatrix potter books which have helped inspire my designing and love of rabbits for many years........along with the tiny bunny....(the fabric rabbit patterns can be found in my etsy shop).....below is the view up the garden path at hill top......the white wisteria around the cottage looked amazing...you can see it better in the picture above.....
...........we walked a lot and really enjoyed it.....seeing the rivers, becks and waterfalls, the green foliage, tiny flowers and mosses was just so peaceful and beautiful.......below is skelwith bridge.......
.........the picture with words below is a sign at dove cottage which i wanted to capture......
........one more pretty view of rydal water sparkling in the late afternoon sunshine.......
.....thank you for dropping in to see me here dear readers, and for the kind comments you leave me....it's always so lovely to hear from you.....now i'm back i'm busy sewing again and making things for summer and the jubilee and working in my garden....i hope you are having happy busy times too and enjoying your days.......take care lovelies.........love and peace...........back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What a wonderful trip Helen, your photos are so lovely, such a beautiful place.
And how lucky was Lettuce, not every little rabbit gets to have their pic taken in Beatrix Potters garden. :)
Wishing you a happy weekend lovely,
V x

Visiting Hilltop was a dream that came true….and there were tears of joy. I loved meeting the head gardener and his name was Peter. All so charming, it will live in my heart forever. ❤️

Oh thank you for these lovely photos of that gorgeous area of England. What an ideal spot to visit for a short stay. Now I need to pull out a few Wordsworth poems and my Beatrix Potter books! Thanks again!
