August Garden Days

Hello again dear readers......we are still picking sweet peas here and still loving them......
.........they are perfect for the kind of arrangements i like....simple ones in pretty little pottery jugs or small glass vases......
.........it hasn't been very summery weather though so i took some pictures to remind us it really is still summer time here......strawberries and flower posies on a vintage charm quilt......
............the flowers have been amazing this summer and we are planning even more for next year.....
.........love the glass beehive honey jar my daughter gave me.....it will have some honey in it soon.....
..........below is some of our homegrown rhubarb, destined for a crumble with lashings of custard....
.........and one of the big dahlias we managed to grow......
...........in the pink for this week's quilt stack........
...........and one more picture of a big dahlia flower sent to you with love.........
..........the garden is a colourful tangle of sweet peas, sunflowers, dahlias, asters and perennials.....on sunny warm days it is drowsy with bees and on rainy days the flowers are covered in raindrops and really perk up......
..........thank you for coming to see me here lovely blog friends....it's always a treat to hear from you too.....hope you are enjoying these fast flying august days and all the joys of the late summer season.....take care lovelies.......back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Scrappy quilts like your pretty charm quilt are always favourites of mine. We are still cutting sweet peas, too, and I put them into little cream jugs. Your pink dahlia is a very lovely colour. Have a good weekend, Helen.

The sweet peas are just lovely, they always remind me of my gran as she used to grow them. It was also my gran that taught me to sew.

Thank you for bringing some Summer sunshine into our homes ,we need it with not much sun .
Today is another rainy dull day, hubby will be happy because he does not have to water the garden .
Your Sweet peas are just beautiful , my ones have been so poor this year .
Thank you for sharing your lovely home and garden.

Such a lovely stack of quilts - your heart quilt 'with love' is especially sweet; and your flowers.....love the abundance. We are looking forward to some cooler weather, but are thankful for a safe haven! Have a blessed weekend, Helen!
