May Time

Hello again dear blog friends......this week has been a mixture of winter and spring....with huge hail storms and spells of sunshine, howling gales surprised us and did a bit of damage to the garden but luckily not too much....
........this is a new tiny tote bag i've been making......
....using sweet fabric scraps and a gorgeous fruit cross stitch print by atsuko matsuyama.....it is decorated with tiny appliqués, yo yos and buttons......
.........quilt stacks feature often in my house.......
.....and this large basket seemed just right to hold some quilts and to have a little cutter quilt heart tied on it too......
.......i love to see quilts around the home...they create such a cosy look and feel......
.......in between the weird weather this week we had some nice walks.....below is a local field covered with daisies.......
.........and here is a pure white blossom tree in a neighbours garden........
.........today we picked some special lilacs.....these are in memory of my dear blog friend teresa kasner who has sadly died unexpectedly.......teresa was so kind and supportive to me and many other bloggers.....
.........her posts were so bright, cheerful and positive and she was a warm, strong and creative person.....
.........she will be very much missed and we send our condolences to her husband dayle and all their family.....rest in peace dear teresa x........i am finishing this post with some bright and cheerful crabapple blossom......time to enjoy every day and everything.....life is fragile but beautiful..........
.........thank you to everyone who drops by to see me here in my little blog space......it's always lovely to hear from you too and i value all your kind comments......wishing you a happy sunny week with flowers and blue skies......take care of yourselves lovelies.....back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy Flowers! The bag is lovely. The colors are perfect for sprucing up spring, and bringing summer sooner. I'm glad the bad weather didn't do much damage in your garden.

Yes, May does keep us on our toes! We have had a lot of windy days recently as well. Just when you feel you can do some gardening, it gets cold. All in good time, I guess. I enjoyed seeing some of these lovely blooming trees. I have a gorgeous flowering plum tree at the lake and I hope it is in full bloom when I get up there next week.

I just learned of Teresa's passing, really-just this morning. She was a beautiful, creative lady...she will be missed dearly by all who were touched by her happy spirit. ❤️

I love your tote! The little flowers with the buttons are precious. I'm happy to say I've picked up my needlework while I spend too many hours on my bum awaiting surgery. You can only read and fiddle on social media for so long!

Sending love and good wishes, Helen!🌸

Your post is, as usual, filled with loveliness. It's very sad about Teresa, a creative and encouraging blogger.
How beautiful the lilacs are in your photos, and here, too. Their scent is intoxicating.

I'm so sorry about hearing that your friend passed away. Sending my heartfelt condolences - and big hugs your way, Helen. Yes, life is fragile. Lovely spring blooms already. Our Lilacs and other plants are just starting to bud. We have another robin pair sitting on their nest outside our kitchen window. That is always a special Spring sign for us - and lovely to watch. Always enjoy seeing your patchwork bag and quilts. Have a lovely and safe weekend dear friend.

I believe this is my first comment on your blog, but I do know Teresa loved it. Thank you for picking lilacs in her memory. We all know how she loved them. I was a lucky one. I was able to know Teresa not only through the blog world where we met, but also personally and was able to spend time at her farmhouse and along with our husbands have some adventures together along the beautiful Gorge and Oregon coast.
Again, thank you for remembering her. She will be sorely missed.
Blessings,
Betsy
