Hearts and Flowers

Hello lovely readers.....this week we have a LoT of flowers to enjoy......and more hearts too.....here is my sweetheart pincushion made in some different fabrics.....the grey 'with love' ribbon i used as a tag is by east of india.......the sweetheart pincushion pattern is in my etsy shop link in sidebar.....
 .............the back of the pincushion.....
 .............and the front............
.............luckily i have a whole reel of this ribbon so you will be seeing some of it again :) .....
...........sweet spring flowers from my daughter at half term to thank me for all the grandchild collecting from school i've been doing.....it's a pleasure though....these flowers have a gorgeous scent from the hyacinths and they look so fresh and cheerful.....special frilly edged tulips too....
............here's our valentine's cushion made last year and just right for the season now.....
.............morning tea, valentine's cards (and gifts too) and counting our blessings.......
.........these patchwork hearts are so easy to create using squares and half squares of fabric scraps and white solid cotton for the background......little primrose sneaking in there......
...........more flowers....red tulips cheap and cheerful from the greengrocer's shop.......
............and on a walk when the storm had passed there was the first pink blossom appearing.....
.............last but not least (always loved that expression) my beautiful red roses for valentine's day from my lovely hubby.....we celebrate lots of anniversaries and special days and it happens that we met for the first time just three days before valentine's day (a gazillion years ago)......
.........thank you so much for visiting me here dear readers and for the lovely comments you leave me......it's always great to hear from you.......wishing you a happy week ahead with sunshine and flowers......and sending love to everyone too................back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I love your pincushion and I would like to get some of the "with love" tape/ribbon. How sweet that is! Your flowers are beautiful and I have no idea why we cannot get pretty flowers like you do in your grocers. We have expensive daisies that they dye different colors! Ugh! I just want some lovely natural flowers that don't cost an arm and a leg! I have no idea why that is so difficult here in the states.
I love the heart cushion you made last year. I need to make one of those too! LOL! If I could just hire a cleaning person, yard person and cook then I would have time to make all that I want to make! LOL! At least I get to come by and see your lovely makes! Have a lovely week and your roses are gorgeous! Do they smell lovely too? Roses here have no smell so why but them? Your husband sounds like a sweetheart! Happy Anniversary of something! LOL!

Beautiful post Helen!
It's lovely there are still red roses ... even though it is a gazillion years later!!! ;)
There are so many tulips at the moment, it's wonderful to always have a vase of them on the table.
And of course gorgeous patchwork as always. :)
Happy week my friend,
V x

Beautiful creative work and flowers cheer up this drab day we're having; more rain. I'm a new follower and so happy I found your blog.

Beautiful!
Red and white fabrics in winter are a cheery choice to lift one's spirits.

So pretty a lovely colour fix for this time of year.
What miserable weather we are having at the moment ,time for lots of sewing and crotchet.
Have a lovely week Helen.

Lovelypictures. It is good your daughter appreciates what you do.For nine years we picked our two granddaughters up from school once a week. They are both in secondary school now so that has stopped. We do miss it.

I needed a little cheer today so was good to see your post in my inbox! Oh what lovely flowers you have there! Like one other reader said, ours in the US seem to be almost "fake" and weird colors, not at all natural for the most part. And they don't have much fragrance either. I bet YOUR red roses did! Love your bedroom picture with the pretty quilt and pillow.. and white headboard and white night stand and lamp. I LOVE the all white with the pops of quilting colors. Your blog always cheers me up! Have a nice week... Marilyn

Such a pretty pin cushion. I love your Valentine heart pillow and the quilt alongside. Your flowers are all so lovely, too. I'm partial to hyacinths and their wonderful scent. Have a great week, Helen.

I enjoyed your new pincushion and what fun that tape is! You were spoiled with lots of flowers by your loving family. Isn't love grand? I was given a bouquet today by my blog friend Gracie when I had her over for lunch today, I'll put a photo of it on my blog on Wednesday. Isn't it nice to see blossoms in the trees? We have some here, too! Happy Spring! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
