Tulips and Toys

Hello and happy new week everyone...........first i want to say a big thank you to everyone who has entered my giveaway on my last post....such kind and sweet comments from so many of you that were a pleasure to read........the giveaway is open until next sunday so there is still time to enter if you'd like to.....
............this week i am working on several commissions at once....creating a cross stitch chart, sewing a quilt and making a toy.....as all of these have to be secret until they've been published in magazines i have taken a few pictures of some i made earlier....
..............all the dolls and bunnies are played with by visiting children.......most small children seem to love tucking toys up in bed and i have lots of little doll's quilts to play with too.....
.............it has been so cold, gloomy, windy and wet here over the past week that i just had to treat myself to a couple of bunches of pink tulips :)...........
............the bright colours of yarn, fabric, paint and thread have always cheered me up through the dark winter days.....and of course the flowers and bulbs are especially cheery and make me think spring is on the way....
.............the bedtime mouse has been tucked up in this seed tray which does look rather cosy....
.............this little dolly arrived home in time for christmas from her magazine jaunt.....
...............here is bobbi the newest bunny now tucked up at my younger daughter's house with her newest baby..............
................i love making little fabric projects like these, especially using up scraps and fussy cutting.....
...............rabbits keeping cosy with their crochet blankets.............
..............more pink tulips.........special treat...a delicious scone baked by chris, my son in law x....
...............a glimpse of a crochet blanket....i am so busy doing sewing and other crafts for commissions at the moment that i'm not doing much crochet so i am sorry to those who mentioned they long to see crochet here....i hope to get back to it soon :)............
.............back to work now charting on the computer.....rather an exciting new project to work on....more about it soon......remember to enter the giveaway on my previous post if you haven't already, and you could win a lucky dip package of fabric and other crafty treats.............

....thank you for dropping by dear readers..........wishing you a happy week ahead and plenty of crafty inspirations............back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Helen, I find your work so enchanting. The colors you use cheer me on a gloomy day. Great minds think alike, I purchased tulips this past weekend and I'm hopeful for spring. I do find that the winter weather is very productive to getting craft projects going. Have a wonderful week and than you so much for your wonderful blog.

I love the little bunnies and doll, they look so sweet and cozy tucked into bed together. The tulips are lovely - I believe I will buy some soon - we've had two snows so far this winter, hoping that's all there will be. Thankful for a warm house and cozy throws and good books to read. Thanks for sharing the cuteness with us on your blog.

Helen,
Love your pink tulips, they bring a welcome touch of spring into the home. Fresh flowers are a favorite of mine, and I am in the habit of buying a bouquet about every two weeks to brighten my kitchen table. I am looking forward to the day I can cut some of my own again.
What can I say but "Wow" to all your sweet little creations for the "wee" ones. I am sure they are well loved.
Thank you for sharing.

It's been grey and gloomy here today too, Helen, but your post has certainly brightened the day. Those little toys look so comfy and cozy tucked up in bed with their own little quilts and blankets.

Just what I needed to cheer me up lieing in bed trying to get my strength back. I love your photos with all the sweet things! I'm not sure if we ever spoke about those little suitcases? I have a small collection now and it began with that same red you have. Then my friend bought the same and now we collect them together, so fun. Best wishes! Teje

Lovely little bunnies such a good idea to use up wool in their crochet blankets, my beautiful new Great Grandaughter would love them.

Such a delight to behold! All the sweet bunnies tucked under the pretty quilts! Love seeing peeks of your cupboards, chairs and tables and all a nice bright white. The tulips are lovely and love the color. My meager budget doesn't allow me to buy flowers, but I have my bright fabrics and papers to cheer me, and my craft room is a bright yellow which helps on the dim dreary gray days. Marilyn

My ancestors came from Ireland and Scotland, but through Swedish and Finnish friends here in America, I’ve come to love the simplicity of WHITE plus cheery pastels that you so frequently use in your art. It must take the gloom and darkness out of the short days of winter! Our winters in Northern California USA are very short compared to many places in the world, but I would love just one room like yours to soak in the light on these short, dark days! Your granny square afghan is so pretty—my grandmother made many of those, but with black borders.

You have a new grand baby to love! How wonderful. I'm sure the handmade little guy will be much loved. And I can see why the little girls are in love with your handmade dolls and mice families! I'm enchanted and I am a bit beyond middle age!

I love your tulips--I saw them on Instagram. I need some of them, pink and white would be perfect--as a pick me up!!

Cold, rainy, foggy and windy here in Chicago. Home after ten days at the lake with just my dogs. Same weather, but we were very cozy!

Your post is infinitely cheering on a grey and stormy day here on the west coast of Canada. Sweet little creatures are surely beloved by little ones who come to visit. Enjoy the commission work!

Delicious little treats all round - love them all, and always so colourful and cheery. Your little mouse tucked up made me smile, and thought about real ones nibbling seeds form a box, such a charming distraction. Pink tulips in your pretty teapot are gorgeous XXX

The grass under the snow here is still green. Temperatures were so warm before the cold began, the lawn didn't have a chance to fade. When the snow melts, it looks like Spring outdoors!
