Lots of making has been going on here over the past week as i have had quite a few deadlines to meet......at the weekend i picked up my rather neglected v stitch crochet blanket and had a bit of cosy crochet time......we have had chilly mornings and evenings which meant putting the heating on and lighting the fire again sometimes.....
.............but lots of bright autumn sunshine too and sweet flowers to pick.......
.............the last of the tomatoes here reminding me of traffic light lollipops.....
...............and another block for my modern vintage flowery wreath quilt...........
...............i am just beginning to stitch around the applique here with matching embroidery thread....
.............lots of lovely bright berries from our garden and purple daisies from my daughter's as michaelmas daisies just won't grow for me for some reason......
..............we went to the farm and bought a pumpkin ready for halloween....just got to carve it now ;)........below is my little tea tray with a recent crafts beautiful project applique cloth on it......
...............below is part of my festive project for the crafts beautiful christmas special available now and you can find out more here.........
................besides making, stitching and crochet i have been planting bulbs ready to enjoy next spring........i have put lots in the ground and am going to plant up quite a few in pots and keep them in the greenhouse for even earlier bulb displays............looking forward to those already......
............the next block for my wreath quilt is applied and ready for sewing......i love making the same block but varying the fabrics used........the pam kitty garden one below is one of my favourites.....
...............one more sweet daisy with some festive fabrics in the background....more about these soon as i am planning a cheery christmas quilt this week.....
..............time for a cup of tea now and then back to work at my computer......
.................thank you for dropping by lovely readers and for the kind comments you leave me....it is such a pleasure to hear from readers old and new and i do try and visit you too if i can :)........wishing you all a happy week ahead enjoying the cosy season (or the fresh new spring of course if you live on the other side of the world).....hope you have plenty of sunny days, cheerful flowers and crafty inspirations.................back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Such a pretty breath of fresh air! It looks like you're busy and happy and creating some beautiful things. I love the background of your PKM block - one of my all-time favorite Lakehouse prints!
Oh I love those blocks! You make such lovely things, can't wait to see how these turn out!
I love that flowery wreath pattern and of course all the beautiful color in your work.
the wreath designs are very pretty. I do love the way you use colour, in your work and around your home. Betty
What a pleasure your blog is to read. The colours echo the time of the year.
With a few extra just to spice things up. It's nice to see you crotchet again. You certainly get the best out of your garden all year round.
Have a lovely week and enjoy your crafting.

Your flowers are so pretty, and I love the quilt block.

The vintage style wreath blocks are so unusual Helen. I love seeing all your crafty makes! x
You continue to produce the prettiest blog ever! I'm sewing and crocheting here too and have decided it's time to light my wood burner and order some logs - the end of BST is less appealing,
I have to say.
Your quilts are beautiful and inspirational - I do wish that basic sewing skills were taught in schools these days. The first thing I made at Chester City High School (age 11) was a cookery apron - the pattern for which we had to draw ourselves on squared paper and, on completion, had to embroider our name on the pocket!
Happy days, but can you imagine anything like that now?
Thank you Helen. xx
anonymous made a mistake - should have read sew!
Sorry Helen.
Its definitely getting to blanket time again Helen, the colours of yours are beautiful. :)
Its an inbetween time in the garden ...........time to plant bulbs yet there are still summer flowers in bloom.
Amazing stitching as always...have a lovely week,

Love the candy colors in your newest crochet project. I enjoy your posie bouquets in your home and studio. I think it's wonderful that your job is making such pretty things.. everyone should be so lucky. We're off to the beach for a week.. my next post will have the Pacific Ocean in it! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Your quilt applique is lovely, as are your tomatoes. Still hot here, unfortunately. Today we have high winds. But then that's pretty common for Oklahoma. I miss doing applique, but my arthritis just can't handle it. I'll just enjoy looking at yours!

Beautiful colours, I imagine your house to be so pretty and light xx
Wow, Helen, you have been busy...the results that you show us here are lovely to see. I'll be on the lookout for the November Christmas issue of Crafts Beautiful. An issue full of inspiring projects.
Over here, I've been busy too...I finally bought my first smart phone, and have addei instagram to my blogging community. Somehow, I am keeping my smart phone education/investigation to an hour or so each day, so that there is still time for artistic, creative projects. I painted a birthday card for a dear friend that featured a jug of autumn lavender asters...not too different from an image in your photos.

Such lovely photos and I love seeing your makes. I feel like one of the best ways I can spend my time is by creating!
Your magazine Christmas project is lovely and your current stitching looks challenging, and beautiful. I stitched together 15 practice squares this weekend on a Featherweight Singer and patched together a pillow backing for them. It is the first time in many years I have attempted machine sewing, and I enjoyed it. I have two Hollyhock blooms left and and two Rose blossoms as the outside growing season winds down. Thanks for another inspiring post, Helen. xx
So many lovely creative pieces...I love the magazine project!
Love, love, love these photos x
Your applique wreath is lovely. The round flowers are my favorite. The green strip is a surprise the way it adds spark to the already cute design.
Bulbs! Thank you for the reminder to plant them
Such beautiful creations!! I, too, must get busy with bulbs if I want to add to my spring gardens...it's on my very lengthy to-do list!!
Your blocks are so pretty - vintage and modern all at the same time. The Scandi Christmas book looks like it would have some great projects - I wonder if it will be available here. We do get some UK magazine publications in our bookstore.
Bulbs. Yes. I need reminding. Perhaps this weekend.
Have a lovely day, Helen.
Dear Helen,
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog. Sorry I haven't been around much lately.
Your stitching looks beautiful as always.I enjoyed seeing your lovely garden flowers too. Hopefully I will have some time this weekend to pop over to my allotment and see if there are any flowers left for picking.
Have a lovely evening!

Good morning dear Helen...yes it's time to cosy up isn't it.I'm glad to see you still have some lovely flowers in the garden and that your bulbs are in. I just have one more pot to plant but still have fuschia in flower so I am waiting. Your cake border looks fab. Enjoy the rest of the week.Hugs xx
