Easter Time

This is one of my favourite times of the year....i love the spring, easter decorations, the colours and the flowers and the sun shining .............it has been bright and sunny as well as rainy and windy this easter weekend....we all put our sweaters back on when saturday dawned grey and chilly after a warm and sunny good friday......
..............here is a little flowery crochet garland i made for my easter shelves this year.....
.............the flowers were made from leftover yarn scraps and i made a long green chain to hang them on......
..............on good friday i spent some time pottering in the greenhouse, tending to my plants and watering the newly sprung seedlings in there............lolly the bunny was there too keeping me company and wearing her beloved easter dress..............
..............the little watering can here belonged to my mum and i think of her whenever i use it......she loved growing flowers and plants too.............
................my elder daughter and son in law hosted our family easter party this year at their (recently moved to) lovely home......my daughter found lots of colourful decorations like the paper hanging easter eggs here.............the children had an egg hunt in their new garden, and we all admired the frogs and frog spawn in the pond, the newly painted garden shed (with bunting) and the spring flowers and blossom trees..........
............the table filled with easter cakes and little daisy choosing one....in her other hand she held a red lead with molly (our little woolly dog) at the other end of it...........daisy and molly are very best friends...........
..................sarah's mini egg chocolate crispy cakes......one of my favourite treats.............
...............there are spring flowers everywhere this week...........pink tulips and hyacinths on the shelves.............pink tulips on the kitchen table............
..................and snippets of flowers from the garden being arranged in little glass bottles...........
..............the sun is peeking out again here today and we are going for a long walk soon followed later by a roast dinner.........
................thank you for all your kind and thoughtful easter wishes dear readers, and for visiting me here in my little blog space............wishing you a sunny spring week with lots of happy crafty times...............back soon........xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

A really colourful blog as usual.
It's a pleasure to read.
lm in Spain at the moment so I have missed Easter with my children and grandchild.
But at least we have had the sun.
Thanks for your inspiration with your crotchet.
It helps me when my mojo has gone.
Have a lovely Easter.

Helen,
Such a sweet Easter post today. Love the flower bunting and your bunny in her Easter dress. Did you make Daisy's darling little dress? It looks like it may be one of your creations.
Thank you for sharing a lovely spring post.

There is so much to love in this post I don't know where to start. My fave is Daisy, of course! And your lovely flower garland. And the flowers in little vases. Tulips and hyacinths. And bunny's Easter dress (yes, I'm still loving it lol). The yummy treats. What a wonderful holiday weekend you all enjoyed! We had a very nice Easter, too, my sister-in-law Linda made fried chicken and mashed potatoes - my favorites!

It sounds like your Easter weather was much the same as ours...we had some showers and then bursts of sunshine! During some of the showers some of my little grand girlies dashed outside with their dad and an umbrella to hippity-hop in the rain :) I have yet to try my hand at making any sort of bunting, but admire what you have crafted, Helen. You and I are blessed to have sweet reminders of our creative moms. Sending you extra hugs xxxxxxxxxxx

Helen, from all that you've shown and told us here, it seems to me that you and your family have had a grand Easter, surrounded by lots of beautiful creations from your own talents.

I've now got lots of tulips going through their blooming transformations ... all gifts to me celebrating my retirement. Outdoors here in NYC it's still the time of yellow daffs and forsythia. The rest of the parade of spring blooms will arrive soon.

I agree with you that this time of the year is very inspiring. xo

Such a bright and cheerful post full of delights to feast the eye and nourish the spirit. Your Easter garland is so pretty and bunny looks snug with her wooly under her favourite dress. I notice she's taken it off in the warmth of the greenhouse :-) You have such a way with grouping together China, fresh flowers and hand made treasures, it can't help but fill us all with inspiration and it looks like your children and grandchildren are following in your footsteps.
