Happy Crafty New Year

We have had a merry and bright christmas week and i hope you have too.......warm cosy times and plenty of time to enjoy family fun and quiet reflection too..........new books to read, music, films and crochet............
.............the crochet baubles were made a while ago ........
.............and the colours inspired me to begin a new bright multi coloured granny blanket......

...........i am still working on the alpine flowers blanket too and it is coming along well.....i find it more inspiring to work on two projects alternately and to be able play with lots more colours :)...............
.........it is lovely to see my dearies enjoying using my blankets and other makes...........
...............below is the cute button applique pincushion that i made for the january 2016 issue of crafts beautiful magazine which is out now....you can find out more about it here............
..............i am loving the bulbs and other plants growing now, with their promise of flowers and scent and spring time on the way...............
.............today i was pottering in the greenhouse and enjoying the light there and new growth in the pots and containers......lots of seeds to plant and lots of cuttings to nurture for the coming spring and summer............
.................thank you for all your good wishes in my last post, dear readers, and for keeping me company all through this crafty year............i hope you will come with me into the new one too.....x
...............i would like to wish you all a very happy new year and a healthy, peaceful and joyful 2016........sending love to you wherever you may be...............back soon xxxxxxoooooooxxx

Wow love those colour combinations. I had not thought about using the silver grey - very pretty colourways both of them.

I am in the dog house where wool is concerned at the moment with OH he considers that I have more than enough wool! Crochet is one of my main hobbies and I promised a young mum a throw for when she was nursing baby. I have been and bought the wool today a peppermint green and white Her choice of colours). Hopefully I will get this started this coming weekend. I have two lap throws to finish off before then. I work systematically preparing all the centres then the next rows etc. and then I go and buy the background wool to finish everything off. I find it easier this way as sometimes I do not have much time but at least I am doing something. Have a lovely New Year and look forward to viewing your work to come. Take care. Pattypan xx

I agree Helen, the promise of spring in all in the new shoots and bulbs is great!
I love both your blankets and yes it is a good idea to work on two at the same time for a little variety.
Happy new year to you and yes I'll be back here to join you in 2016!

It is lovely to see your projects and your plants, Helen. I am very excited about the Amaryllis bulb I grew last winter. I kept it in hopes of coaxing it to bloom again. Several weeks ago I started watering it and it has grown over foot tall stem topped with a promising bud! I will post a photo when the bud opens :) May you and yours be blessed with a happy 2016. xx

A Very Happy New Year to You & Yours!

As part of my 2016 winter cheer me ups, I'll be using colors from your blog because they are so cheerful and refreshing. I'm adding color therapy to aroma therapy, music, crafts, and hot chocolate. :)

Hello, Helen...I am here from the rave post by Brenda..she was right..this is a wonderful blog. I am now following thru Google Friends Connect and by email.
PLEASE tell me you sell some of your beautiful creations...I don't have a crafting bone in my entire, olden body and could never do the things you do. They are so pretty...and I really enjoy your talent with color...I can't help but wonder if your children inherited some of your talents. My mother was so like you...she could do anything she wanted to do...I, however, didn't get a bit of her talents. :(
I would love for you to come see me sometime but please know that my blog is nothing like yours...no crafts or anything...just my every day life.

I've resolved to slow down this year. And I was just wondering if another granny square blanket would be too many. Nope...not after seeing yours! I'm off to my craft room to dig out some yarn.

Happy New Year and thanks for the inspiration!
