..............all this floweriness may not look very autumnal but these violas are winter flowering and supposed to continue blooming whatever the weather....in past years i have seen them peeking though the snow :)..........below is the start of my autumn decorating..........
...............the october houses that i made a few years ago are here again, along with some (real) pumpkins (both orange and white ones), some fabric pumpkins, some berries, toadstools and bright red apples............

Such beautiful roses to be given! I'm sure you were delighted. The crocheted blanket is gorgeous.
Beautiful roses and lovely photographs! Thank you for the smiles
This is a perfect day on the last Monday of October to see such beautiful sewing and flowers.
Congratulations to your book winners!
Those apples look so delicious... no wonder you eat apple crumble every weekend :-)!
The crochet blanket will be gorgeous; and yes, the evenings are very chilly here too so perfect to wrap up under a nice crochet blanket in-the-making. Light some candles and drink a cup of tea and all is well....
Congrats to the winners of your book; I will look out for it in the bookshop, can't wait!
Lots of love from Mirjam.
Lovely photos as always, crumble & crochet blankets are just the things needed to keep warm now. Congrats to the lucky winners x

Enjoy your beautiful autumn time! Apples look very tasty ;)
Greetings from Poland
I enjoyed your beautiful post! Congratulations to Teje and Jennifer.
It is finally beginning to feel like fall here. I need some cozy fall days to get some projects done. It is so difficult to be in the house when the sun and sea are calling.
I love the tall skinny houses you made and I am going to check out that book.
That's the beauty of crocheting blankets, they keep you warm as you make them!
Beautiful roses and delicious looking apples too. I really love that pretty grey fabric.
I've been enjoying potting up some winter flowering pansies too, its lovely to have a bit of colour to see us through the dark days.
Have a great week Helen,
V x
P.S. I ordered your book earlier today, I'm so looking forward to its arrival.
Oh my goodness, I never expected to win! Thank you so much. I will email you right now. I love that you planted flowers in the fall. We have the same flowers blooming all winter here too, but we call them pansies instead of violas. I like violas better as a name. :)
Congrats to the winners and the house's are so cute that you made.
Your posts just make me happy! Congratulations to the book winners!
Congratulations to the two winners!! Lovely roses and I'm loving all your little houses and new fabric! Can't believe you have flowers that will bloom all winter, I may have to look into that here : )

How sweet that Daisy has been planting daisies with you Helen. A little gardener in the making. Your roses were beautiful and the apples look delicious. Your blanket is coming on so well, my crochet is coming along but at a snail's pace. Well done to the lucky winner of your beautiful book, you should be so proud of it Helen. Enjoy the end of October xx

What gorgeous roses, and such beautiful neuances. Your blanket is going to be wonderful. Pam in Norway
Now I am wondering if I could get flowers like yours to bloom here during the winter...I will investigate! I am so happy for the winners of your giveaway :) It is always fun to glimpse your current projects and seasonal decor as well, Helen, and I can appreciate Daisy's delight in helping you plant some daisies. Today is Rosie's second birthday [already!], Her older sisters wanted to help me wrap Rosie's present. One of them picked some white flowered wrapping paper I had handy. I protested that it was meant to wrap wedding presents. The eldest sister brought my attention to the fact that the wrapping paper had roses on it so was very appropriate for Rosie! Clever girl! We used her choice :) Wishing you a happy creative week xxxxx
The pink of your roses is perfect! What a sweet gift from a friend. Your autumn makes are pretty and it's good to have something to keep you warm while working on it!

I've a cupboard full of them.
Dear Helen, thank you so much! I use Jennifer's words: oh my goodness, I never expected to win! Can't wait to get the book in my hands!
I'm so happy to see your flowers, how great that violas are strong enough for the winter! They are one of my favourites. I used to have them in my Finnish garden and grew so well (in Finnish = Orvokki). Thank you for your beautiful, sweet photos!

Aww Helen,
I didn't realise there was a giveaway! And I read you blog post too, obviously not properly😢. I'll be paying more attention in the future.
The roses are gorgeous colours. I received some for my birthday a couple of weeks ago from a friend but sadly they only lasted three days! Anyway my friend got her money back as she spends quite a bit on flowers from this particular florist. But it was such a shame as they were so pretty.
I do love your little houses and the doll too. I really want to have a go at making one sometime. Keep up the good work Helen, your sewing is beautiful.
Love Carole from Rossendale, Lancashire xx
