The sun is shining here and the garden is green and growing and filled with spring flowers......
................i have been doing some relaxing crochet in between sewing some commissions.......

.................my new crochet blanket is underway........i love making these circles in flower colours.....
.............almost all the yarn is stylecraft special dk left over from other projects........
..........there are just a couple of extras from yarn i found on my travels but now can't identify......not a good idea if you want to find the yarn again or tell others what you have used, so i am going to try and keep a note of each yarn that i buy for the future.....
.............some of the tulip bulbs from the old tulip patch have now flowered down in the box garden.....they look pretty there so i will be adding lots more next autumn.........
...............the cutting garden is mass of spring flowers............
..............more of my favourites, bellis daisies.....love these little button flowers so much :).........
..............at easter we got a new seat for under the cedar tree....it is the place to go and sit in the shade on hot summer days........the old seat was in a sorry state so we bought this new one to replace it.........then we decided to mend the old one and put it somewhere else.....can't have too many seats around the garden to sit and rest after gardening, to watch the birds or the grandchildren playing (or do some crochet in the sunshine)........
..................i made the circles into squares and using the join as you go method i started putting the blanket together at the weekend.........
..............this week is a busy one for me, with magazine project making, book proofs to check and all the delicious fabrics in my sewing room waiting to be sewn............and lots of family times too........
................plenty of moments to enjoy the spring flowers as well, i hope.............

Oh how lovely your house must smell! I love the smell of fresh paint. I hope you don't mind me asking but it looks like you have a little hive in your garden (grey)? I hope you do - any honey? Lovely flowery woollyness. Betty
Love seeing glimpses of your garden. I'm glad the weather is good for you and you can enjoy it. Your blanket is so pretty, with the white border. Now I want to make one!

The crocheted circles will make a beautiful and colourful blanket !!
And that is a véry pretty garden seat, the white one !
Ah, so now I know where the name of the Bellis line of Liberty fabric comes from. I've seen those daisies, but didn't know what they're called. They're beautiful!!!
I just love the Springtime colors of your crochet rounds and squares!
All those gorgeous colours in your crochet circles! And they look so different now that you are joining them together - the white is lovely!
So jealous of all you wonderful spring flowers - your garden must be a riot of colour already!
One of the loveliest things about spring is that it makes you want to DO things. And you certainly have a lot of pretty going on, Helen :-)

I need to learn to crochet those sweet little pretties. But I don't follow directions very well. Wish you were here to teach me.

What gorgeous colour combinations in your crochet! Your garden looks beautiful. I hope that you get lots of time outside to enjoy it. xx
Helen, your new garden bench is a beauty, and looks comfortable for sitting awhile, too. Glad to learn that you are holding on to its predecessor. As Madelief has already written, more garden sitting locations are wonderful.
Perhaps coincidentally, I've also had one of my trusty crochet hooks in hand recently, making a gift for a friend I met for tea today. Funny to think of crocheting something useful, perhaps attractive, while watching an episode of Wolf Hall on television.
Back to knitting now, with a few watercolor studies on the side.

Beautiful crocheted pieces. Love all of your vibrant colors and flowers!

Hi dear Helen, You make me want to pick up my crochet hook and make a flowery blanket! So inspiring Helen, as always. Your home gardens are looking so welcoming, beautiful and cheery. I do hope you have a happy busy week too. xoRobin
Your flowers are gorgeous. It is so much fun to see your gardens. I love the colors you are using in your crochet. Looking forward to seeing how your blanket turns out.

Thanks for posting, Helen! Your new blanket is so pretty, and as I admired your flowers I was interested to note that one of your flowers looks similar to one I was trying to draw in baby Rosie's album today. I am trying to draw flowers to represent each letter in the alphabet. So today one I drew had pink petals surrounding a yellow center, like your favorite bellis daisies but mine was named erigeron which is not familiar to me. Wishing you a happy week! xx
Your flowers are beautiful. Love the crocheted blanket - it's really lovely when it's joined up.
What a lovely, colourful week! I've not tried a join as you go blanket yet, but must!

Your photos show such perfection this week. You are so lucky to be at the end of the painters visiting. It's lovely to be all shiny and new. Love the crochet. I really, really must get on with some soon before I forget how to do this! Take care x
I have missed all the beauty I always find on your lovely blog Helen! Loving the colourful and pretty crochet squares, and your garden is looking so full of pretty spring flowers!
Sorry to be a stranger!
Gill xx
Your blog just makes me smile xx all the pretty things and bright colours. It has inspired me to have a go myself. Im going to try and make your birds on a string using my baby boys baby gros!! I can't bear to throw them out! Is there anywhere I can find a pattern please as I'm not quite as creative as you and would hate to ruin them xx thank you in advance, Claire : cemitch@hotmail.co.uk
All your flowers are so beautiful and love your newest crochet blanket! So colorful and cheery!! Happy sweet day to you Helen! xo Heather
Dear Helen, I haven't been to blogland for quite a while but I really enjoyed reading all your posts I have missed the last couple of weeks. Your garden lookes beautiful, I do envy you a bit. Our garden is 'under construction' at the moment, we are replacing the childrens' sandbox, building a new terrace and having different other projects that make our garden look like a construction site. But some day everything will look pretty.
And your new blanket will look gorgeous. I love the colours very much. As I have finished my ripple blanket I am considering to start with a granny blanket but I haven't decided yet. Hope you have a nice and sunny Sunday, Viola
Dear Helen,
I just realised I called you Vanessa in the comment that I left. So sorry! Hope you will forgive me!
Have a lovely evening!
Madelief x
Could you please confirm with a simple yes or no if this is how you've made your circles:
12 trebles separated by a chain
Then next round a treble in each chain space - separated by 2 chains perhaps
Third round clusters of three trebles with a chain in between
Thanks
Great post!!!follow me on gfc and i follow you back !!!!!kiss
Oh, your gardens are just gorgeous! And I too love those daisies. The new bench is very nice and I am going to look for that pattern of granny square as it looks like a good one to practice the jayg method of joining which I have not done.
