Spring Crochet

Time for a bit of crochet colour today, i think.....and also time to wish you all a very happy month of march.....and the start of spring................it is lighter and brighter here (still cold but improving a bit every day)............
................i have been sorting out my yarn stash this past week.......finding some gorgeous forgotten about balls of wool which i have begun to knit with....more of that in a later post.......and i also found some small balls of yarn and some crochet circles which needed using up........
...............i made the circles into flowery granny squares.......i do love colourful granny squares.....they are what inspired me to learn to crochet in the beginning just a couple of years ago.....and i still love making them and seeing the effects of rounds of different coloured yarn together :)........
...............i used the join as you go method to create this piece of crochet below........
.............i even blocked it..........it is not going to be another blanket or even a pillow.......
................it is going to be a bag............i hope to show you it completed soon...............
.................this week's flowers are tulips........a gorgeous mixed bunch.............
                                          .................lying on the kitchen table..............
..........and in the white 6 jug which is so simple and one of my favourites to display the most vivid and colourful flowers........
..................i also had a lovely surprise gift of a big bunch of yellow tulips which are making my sewing room so sunny and cheery.................i found my little crochet pin cushion in my yarn tidying up session......some of you may remember it from quite a while ago......it was nice to see it again so i am using it along with all my other much loved pin cushions.....just cannot have too many :)..............
.............in my crochet catch up i must show a peek of my marshmallow blanket below......i can't think of another name for it as the pink squares always make me think of the marshmallows my grandchildren love so much, and the name has stuck for now..........i love this blanket and i only need to add a few more granny squares and then i can start the stripy border that i am so looking forward to creating..............

..........lots and lots of plans and projects to keep me busy with both yarn and fabrics as we move into march.......lots of gardening to do too.......below is a new spring time ck mug filled with tea and a plate with two little macarons to enjoy while crocheting my new bag together...........perfect :).............
..........thank you for visiting my little blog space here lovely readers, and for all your sweet comments....it is always wonderful to hear from you................wishing you a happy crafty week and a wonderful sunny start to march..........back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxooooooooooooxxxxxxxxxx

I really like the colours of your marshmallow blanket - for me, it is the ultimate representation of spring colours ! Soft greens and soft pinks... Lovely !
If only the weather would help a little bit, so that we all could get a spring feeling... (Rather chilly and rainy here in Belgium...)

Your marshmallow blanket looks absolutely lovely Helen! You chose some beautiful colours for your bag too.

The weather in Rotterdam sounds the same as the UK. The temperatures are slowly rising, but lots of wind.

Have a good week!

We are having a mostly sunny start to March as well, Helen. Some rain showers fell conveniently last night when I could not see them and got out of the way for today's sunshine :) Thanks for sharing views of your tulips and latest pretty stitching. I have some soft yellow fiber I want to use to try to knit and crochet two baby hats as gifts as we march toward Spring xx

Grannies in lovely colours are so nice to make and look, should have some just around for 'decoration'! And seeing your photos, I think I need to find special vase/jug to have always flowers in the shop. Sunny wishes! x Teje

Helen, your tulips and crocheting share such joyous colors. My winterized spirits have been so warmed up by visiting here!

(I also have some crocheted circles, created perhaps a couple of years ago, that someday I will return to. I've got the yarn set aside necessary to complete that project, but just seem more drawn to knitting now. Crochet will be there when I'm ready.)

Pretty flowers and crochet work. How wonderful to live a life of full-time crafting. Perhaps when I am finished with my current job in June, I can get things in order so that I too can craft my days away. Best wishes, Tammy
