We have been enjoying such beautiful sunny summer days here, and the flowers are blooming away in our garden, with plenty to spare for gathering into big bunches and enjoying indoors.......my special jug for 'flowers from the garden' was a present from one of my sweet sisters last year .........and it somehow wouldn't feel right putting flowers from a shop in it :)
...............i gather the flowers in this very old shallow flower basket that came from grannie's house when we sorted it out.....
...............i like to use it as it is the perfect shape for the job and makes me think of ladies of the past and their leisurely days of snipping flowers to arrange........
..............my days have been very busy, and not so leisurely as i mentioned last time, working on lots of new designs, mainly christmas ones.............but i have had the windows and doors wide open while making and making and sewing and sewing..................
................and this lovely fragrant bouquet in my sewing room to enjoy..............
.................i have fitted in a little bit of crochet in the evenings, finishing off rosie's blanket (pictures of that soon) and making some more flowers for my next cushion in my flower cushion collection :)
...............one of the designs i have been working on had numbers in it.....the ones i practiced on were lying on my desk so i made some quick tags with them............
..............i love making these little flowers........last year i found the pattern for them on the internet and wrote it in my notebook, but now i can't find it again and am not able to attribute it to anyone......if you recognise it please let me know..............
.............a few more flowers inspired by the colours of my bouquet...................
................and here is some stitching to show you too, this is my house sampler design in this month's crafts beautiful magazine............i love red and white samplers, and i love stitching houses too..........
...................i added the home sweet home word embellishments by printing them onto card.......combining paper crafts and stitching is continually inspiring to me and there are always new ideas to try................
.............some views from our garden this week.............lots of blue sky, the sweet peas canes, a little glimpse of the sea and roses growing over the old garage roof..............and below is the round shabby chic table in our tiny courtyard outside the kitchen door where i have lots of geraniums growing and some new red and white striped petunias..........the little door behind the flowers is the door to our old garden store................
.................besides loving the summery days and being in the christmas zone work wise, i have also been washing and ironing and packing our suitcases as we are going on holiday in a few days....
................so next week i will be taking a little blog break.......but i will be back the week after with pictures to show and lots more crafty news then too..............thank you for visiting me here lovely readers, and thank you for all your sweet comments...........wishing you sunny days, bright flowers and happy times..............back soon xxxxxxxxxxxoooooooooooooxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So many lovely flowers Helen! Love the flower jug and all the basket gathering to make that jug so beautiful. Crocheted flowers are so frilly and colorful, will make a sweet cushion for sure. I hope you have a wonderful holiday filled with sunny days, laughter and love, xoRobin
Life sounds so pleasant and breezy, Helen, just the way it should be in the summer! Beautiful flowers and I really love your jug. And your garden is looking lovely as well! Funny to think of Christmas but some things can't be put off. So glad your days are happy and full.
XO,

Helen, what a pretty jug of flowers from your garden! What a thoughtful sister! I'm so curious as to where you're going on holiday - I hope you have a wonderful time and bring back lots of fun photos. And maybe a souvenir for me. LOL! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Hi Helen, your garden flowers are lovely and look so good in your special jug. The weather has been fab of late and it's been so nice to be in the garden (it's raining today though)
Those labels are great and the red and white stitching is pretty too. Have a good holiday, Sam xx
Such a feast of visual delights! It is difficult to know which area to focus on! I must say how much I like your redwork house and mixing the stitching with the papercraft. Have a lovely break Helen. x
Hi Helen - what a gorgeous posy of pastels.
I've adopted a garden for this summer so I'm having to go with the flow, but we have a few roses so I've very happy indeed.

Gorgeous post Helen, those flowers are so pretty. I would enjoy collecting blooms in that pretty basket too. I love the little house cross stitch....I love red and white needlework designs and I have three cross stitch pictures hanging in my living room which I have stitched in red on white from your home sweet home cross stitch book. I shall have to purchase that magazine now! Hope you have a really lovely holiday.

Beautiful flowers.

I love this time of year when there are so many flowers in the garden to pick.
Your crochet flowers are such pretty colours....they look very like my sweetpea colours.
Beautiful blooms, they certainly inspire colour palettes for crochet and other crafts! And I bet the scent and sight makes packing and sorting out the house pre-holiday so much more pleasant! Have a wonderful break! Chrissie x
Enjoy your holiday Helen! I love popping in to see what you are working on...they are always lovely!
xoxo
Hi Helen I am back from holidays as you go off on yours ;0) I love the pretty flowers from your garden and they are in the perfect vase. Happy holidays and "see" you soon x
I hope that you have a great holiday Helen! I have the same jug as you, but mine just holds twigs with lights on them, I feel that it needs flowers after seeing how beautiful yours looks. I love the little red house! Incredibly cute. xx
Helen, I would be on vacation in your garden....and with a view of the sea? I had no idea you were on the coast. Do you have a beach you can walk on or are they high cliffs? I am not good with heights.
Your vase is lovely. What a nice present.
Enjoy your holiday!
Gorgeous flowers!! I love all your stitching. I make Christmas stuff this time of year too. I do it now because the fall gets so busy and all of the sudden it is December. I love Christmas so I enjoy thinking of it year round even though today we were all in our bathing suits at the beach. Enjoy your vacation!

You may well be one holiday by now and I hope that it is/was an enjoyable one. Visiting your posts is like a little holiday. I enjoyed seeing your stitching and the beautiful flowers. Surely, flowers picked from one's own garden are the loveliest!
Karen
Christmas in June, how odd that must feel. But you do seem to have an abundance of summer flowers to compensate :)
Such beautiful flowers in your garden Helen. Wishing you a very happy holiday.

Hello Helen, hasn't the weather been wonderful! Your flowers and garden look wonderful. I hope you were wearing a big floppy straw hat when you collected flowers in tour trug, because I imagine that you did! Love the red and white house and the number tags too. Have a fabulous holiday, a chance to recharge the batteries. Much love to you, Linda xx
Hi sweet friend...sorry I have not visited for such a long time...your blog is just as lovely as always. I do love just going to my garden and clipping flowers...Happy Summer!
Thanks for the sweet wishes about our grandbaby that is soon to come. xoxo
Yes indeed, no need to purchase flowers when you have such a lovely array to choose from in your own backyard. I love geraniums but they have a very short life span in this environment. I would find it hard to create Christmas projects at the moment. You always have to think ahead when you are designing and I am such a procrastinator. Have a lovely holiday. Tammy
Such gorgeous flowers Helen! Your garden is heavenly ... and the vase you use is so special!
Pat xxx
Love your flowers, both scented and real, and so beautifully yarn-ed. See you after your well earned trip.
Oh my, the colors of the flowers (fresh and crocheted) are so pretty!
Hello Helen,
So beautiful flowers, pink&blues go so well together. I can't wait to see your newest flower-pillowcase, happy crocheting!
Yours,
Mia
Hello Hellen! I looove your beautiful flowers arrangements! Lovely projects too!
Have a lovely sunday!
