Nutmeg

This is nutmeg, a little bunny i made specially for a dear friend's birthday at the beginning of august.......i chose the colours with her in mind and took some photos before nutmeg went to her new home..............
...........the beautiful birdhouse was painted for me years ago by my sweet sister............
............and here is nutmeg with the adorable little toffee lakeland terrier from northfield primitives....
..........real bunnies too today, pictures taken of charlie and daisy with the baby bunnies in the bunny barn at the farm we visited......they wanted to bring them home.....so did i..........
......... nutmeg's warm autumn colours have inspired two more spice bunnies now.....cinnamon and clove will be here soon, they are just waiting for their claws to be sewn on....................
........here is my project in the september issue of crafts beautiful............
..............i love stitching mushrooms and toadstools..............
.............there will be more mushrooms to show you soon...................
..........this week i have been having a big painting crush...........both my daughters have been busy home making and painting furniture and interiors and it doesn't take much to inspire me to start painting things again :)............
...............i will do a bit more today and then show you some pictures..........i am also working on my seaside hexie quilt and really looking forward to the quilting part as autumn evenings are drawing in........and some gorgeous new fabrics have arrived here recently...............
................these lecien old new 30's fabrics are from sew and quilt here..............i can't wait to start sewing with them........maybe later in the week......
.......i love these autumn days when the light is golden, the sky is bright blue and there are red berries on the rowan trees............time to pick blackberries, gather apples and make crumbles........to plant bulbs for next spring..................and i am happily sowing poppy seeds this week too, kindly sent to me by debbie at the beautiful blog serendipity patch...............
.................happy september, lovely readers, and thank you for your visits here and sweet comments................wishing you wonderful sunny crafty times this week................back soon xxxxxxxx

I'm pretty sure my last comment on your blog was something about me never wanting summer to end because of your lovely summer pictures. And today on the first day of school for my son you have autumn colors. I feel really good about saying bye to summer now. And your pictures and making are gorgeous as always.

Hello lovely Helen, little nutmeg is everything her name says and more. She oozes autumn and charm and I am sure your friend will be so delighted to receive such a special gift. I like the idea of your spice collection of bunnies and how sweet that you actually got to hold some real ones too. I know all of us here would have wanted to bring them home. There is something really therapeutic about painting and it is something I so enjoy. I look forward to seeing what you have been doing and also seeing you hexie quilt. A big congrats for your beautiful pillow featuring in the Sept issue of Crafts Beautiful, what an honour. Wishing you a happy and creative week xoxo

Helen, you are a handmade factory to make cute little bunnies! yes! true! another lovely little rabbit! welcome!

and.... I'll be grateful if you want to spread my message. Maybe their countries news channels do not speak but there is a great social movement in Catalonia that the September 11 wants to make a human chain of 400 kilometers to claim what belongs to us: freedom, independence. We wish one day we can celebrate our Independence Day's...
FREEDOM FOR CATALONIA.
Catalonia, the new state in Europe.
Thank you Helen... thank you to you all...

Nutmeg is lovely, sporting her autumnal colours. I find I'm gravitating to the warmer colours now that September has arrived. There will still be warm days ahead, I'm sure.

Have a lovely week, Helen.

I'm so enchanted with how you're naming your bunnies after spices, Helen. Nutmeg is just lovely - she has a very slightly determined look about her which totally appeals - what a lovely friend you are.

I'm having a teensy love affair with mushrooms myself at the moment so am totally coveting your gorgeous cushion!

Hope you've had a super weekend.

Dont know how I missed this post but everything is gorgeous xxx Can I ask do you have any rules when buying fabric - or do you just have a natural eye(if you know what I mean) as to what works well together??
