We have had some beautiful autumn weather here this week, as well as some rainstorms, but most days there have been at least a few spells of golden sunshine lighting up the richly coloured leaves and berries in the garden, and showing up the last flowers in the cutting patch..........
........i brought some posies indoors and put them in my favourite jugs and vases............
..........accompanied by the rather lovely white pumpkin they are such a pleasure to look at...........
..........these are the japanese anemones, still going strong..........they remind me of christmas roses in this photo with the berries and red leaves........ there is also a pink-tinged white rose tucked in there, surely the last one for this year?.......
...............time to get out the red and white things, the cosy baking things and a new tea towel to use...one of a set i embellished for a project for sew magazine a while ago.............
........................and time for new candles on the kitchen table as the nights are drawing in...............
......some fabric supplies have arrived this week for a new quilt :)....the pin tin contains the curved basting pins i love to use, we have the backing fabric, the binding fabric and the wadding (batting) and the top is almost finished....yes, the farmer's wife quilt is almost ready to be quilted and i will take some photos of it very sooon ......i am so looking forward to the quilting part too....so cosy for autumn evenings......
....and as many of you so kindly requested, here are some of the websites i love to buy fabric from:
fat quarter shop here, fabric rehab here, the quilt room here, fancy moon fabrics here, gone to earth here, the cotton patch here, ru craft here, superbuzzy here, quilter's cloth here, puddleducks quilts here...........and i must mention a brand new fabric shop, just opened called sew and quilt here.......i hope all these links work ;).................
......the fabrics above all came from the fat quarter shop and are for magazine projects........the pam kitty morning fabric button bag is my project in this month's crafts beautiful magazine..........i love browsing fabric websites and find the quality of the fabric photos is just fine for choosing the colours........i hope the list here is useful to some of you, and do let me know your own favourite sites please too ........and for those of you who are not quilters or sewing enthusiasts, i hope you enjoyed the flowers :)..........thank you for popping in to see me today and wishing you all a wonderful autumn weekend to come.....back soon xxxxxxxxxx

Hi Helen..I love all of your lovely displays today. The Fat Quarter shop is one of my favourites too..and I just adore the way they fold the fabric so beautifully and package it neatly in a plastic bag...it always makes the fabrics look so attractive.
I use a company called strawberry fayre to order fabric from, thank you for your links i will have a look.

Such beautiful fabrics Helen, and thank you for the shop links. I have to be careful ... I tend to stockpile fabric these days as I'm no longer doing much sewing (the sooner someone comes up with a life hack to give me more hours in the day the better!)
Meanwhile, as I fret about all the things I don't have time to do, I'm enjoying watching the colours on all the blogs switch from summer to autumn, even winter, yet each still fitting with the individual blogger's aesthetic. You have such a distinctive style ... love it :)
Thank you, Helen for sharing with us your fabric sources :o) Sweet button bag and beautiful posy as well :o) Hope I could grow some anemones next year too.
Have a nice weekend
love
Natasha

Hi Helen, had a spare moment to read your post from Mom's . All such beautiful arrangements! A button bag how sweet, we love buttons! Beautiful in Pennsylvania, at least 5 weeks behind Vermont. The foliage is gorgeous. Have a great weekend and thanks for the eye candy fabrics and flowers.

Hi Helen always love reading your blog and seing your makes which always look so beautifully made xxx
Helen, I always want to see what you've been working on, and am always delighted. Thank you so much for posting all these links to sources of wonderful fabrics.
I've clicked over to lots of them, and will have to return to see the rest. I agree with Lori, that I'm now very plugged into knitting, but still yearn for that eighth day of the week to do some sewing.
xo
I enjoyed it all :)))
Gorgeous autumnal blooms Helen. Loving the red and white too!

Hello Helen, I see you are embracing Autumn over here. Your posies are lovely. I thought the Japanese Anemones were Hellebores at first! I love the white pumpkin too. It is very hard to get anything other than orange in the shops here, so I may paint mine this year.
I keep seeing you in lots of magazines at the moment. I love the button bag, your choice of fabric and ribbon is just perfect.
Many thanks for your kind words about my header, they are much appreciated. Lovely to hear from you. Much love, Linda x

Hi Helen,
I've been a follower of yours since May, when I first became a cyber citizen of this blogosphere! So, when you dropped by today, it was extra special! I had stumbled upon your pretty blog via another and was hooked! Although I have no talent for sewing, I truly appreciate people who can create such beauty and charm with a needle and thread! I absolutely adore your projects; they make me smile and think of simpler times.
Poppy
Obviously I am missing out without a subscription to that magazine. I'll have to see if I can get it on Amazon. But I think I could probably figure out a similar "button bag" between your cross stitch book I have and some new fabric I am now itching to buy! I swoon over your choices. They are wonderful! I love that button bag! TFS!!!!
