Seaside

Just back from a lovely time at the seaside.......
..................we went to the isle of anglesey as mr p was sailing his boat in the annual menai straits regatta.....we stayed as usual in the pretty little seaside town of beaumaris where we met up with sailing friends for parties, drinks and meals  and it was fun...........and the family came and stayed with us which was fun too........
.....i love the little houses and shops painted in ice cream colours , and i loved the new signs outside the gorgeous janet bell gallery (as well as the things inside it )........
.........a tranquil postcard showing puffin island and penmon lighthouse......the puffin island race is mr p's favourite one of all..................
.............i just had to show you these adorable seaside blocks that fee of chipper nelly made for me, they have several different 'looks' depending which sides you show which is very clever.....you can find chipper nelly here....we had some lovely making memories times with charlie and daisy..........
.........going crab reeling, playing on the beach with buckets and spades, paddling, collecting shells, eating ice creams..i will always remember daisy running off along the newly refurbished pier, her little two year old legs going amazingly fast..........
....and charlie opening the shutters in our bedroom first thing in the morning and announcing happily 'blue sky'....obviously very important to check when you are at the english seaside ;)...........
...........some crafty things to show you.....here are two new farmer's wife blocks on the left is whirlpool and on the right storm signal.........i asked mr p if there were any whirlpools in the straits and he said yes, one of the boats in the regatta got caught in one and went round in circle for half an hour before sailing out of it......and though it was very windy sometimes luckily there was no storm signal..............
.....i did a little bit of crochet while away and my daughter brought hers so we managed a little bit of crafting one evening...........this is a new cushion i made recently, inspired by the white border crochet blanket that i'm still making..............
...........this is the back of it......i loved making the great big granny square...........now i'm home to lots of new work, an order of lovely fabrics and lots of inspiration...........and my giveaway gifts are almost finished so look out for it sooooon................thanks for visiting here.......have a lovely week.....back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ooh, now I always like 'hearty' things but these seaside hearts are delicious Helen!
As are Fee's blocks.

Beaumaris has to be one of my favourite places, it's a day trip away for us. I've never thought to visit the regatta though.

Beaumaris is one of our favourite places.I love the Janet Bell gallery and have some framed cards in our bathroom.Lovely to hear you had a good holiday and some decent weather. It is always better there than here in Flintshire, not that far away.We have been tempted in the past to buy a mobile home there but never took the plunge.

Thanks for taking us along on a bit of your seaside holiday, Helen! I love your use of white in your designs...uplifting...enlightening :) I ordered some Janet Bell cards...to share them with others, but so far only those who visit my living room can enjoy them because I have them all lined up in a display that transports me to the sea every time I look upon them.
Blessings to you and yours,
Gracie x

Hi Helen,
Nice to see you back and to see you had such a wonderful time, with the family too. I'm back too and getting back to normal! Love all your seaside crafts in the first and second pictures. Lovely crocheted pillow too. The two new patchwork squares are great. I actually ordered that book from amazon the other day and am so excited to receive it! It's hard to believe it's mid August, they are selling mums (flowers) here already!!
Loved visiting, xoRobin❤

How precious are all those vintage images and your cross stitch and crochet is lovely as usual. It sounds like a great time was had by all! I'm not a water person...I like to sit on beach with a nice drink and watch! LOL! They had water spouts on Lake Michigan in the States this weekend and boats are warned because they're like tornadoes except on the water. Do you have those there? Scary and whirlpools too!
Fee's blocks are always super too.
My future project list has that Farmer's Wife quilt on it...I love those blocks and especially your colors for them.
And did I hear you're having a drawing? I can't wait! Have a great week!

Just the names of the places you mentioned sound so very lovely. Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time. Our trip was good, thought I would have enjoyed cooler temperatures. We did have lots of blue sky which is unusual as Germany had lots of rain in June and July. Everyone kept telling us how lucky we were. I visited a couple of fabric shops while there and thought about you ... I love fabric, but don't sew. You would have seen all the possible projects in all that lovely material. :) Wishing you a great rest of the week. Tammy
