Happy Days

The sun  is shining, we have bright spring flowers, there are blackbirds singing outside my studio window.....happy spring days are here.....and before i tell you more about the last few crafty days i would like to announce the winner of my springtime giveaway........a big thank you to everyone who took part i wish you could all be winners but there is only one today, and that is......birdie blue.......a sweet blog that i love to visit! congratulations to you molly...i will be in touch x...........  i've been thinking up more giveaway ideas so will be having another one soon............. so good luck everyone in the next one...............
.......recently i mentioned that i was making some granny squares with the yarn left over from my spring flowers granny stripe blanket.....i crocheted them together with spring green yarn and then i added.....some flowers...
............so it became the primrose patch pillow..........
.............i love making crochet flowers....and on mother's day i was delighted to discover i wasn't the only one in our family making them..........my daughter sarah learnt to crochet a few weeks ago, and i knew she was busy making a gorgeous stripy blanket.....but i didn't know that she was also looking on the internet and learning to make flowers to make me a sweet mother's day brooch...!
........happy days....seeing my dearies....having sweet gifts like these......wonderful pip studio jug picked specially for me by rosie ...eton fudge shop deliciousness......pretty cards and flowers........
....a delightful mother's day block which my daughter secretly ordered from fee..........and CaKe of course (not made by me).......yummy lemon drizzle cake with vanilla sugar lemon topping.....and there were scrumptious chocolate buns too but i didn't manage to take a picture of those..........the children were very keen on munching those up and daisy loved the squishiness of them and the exciting potential for chocolate-y decorating on everyone and everything ;-)
.....you can tell it's spring because a little chick flew into my studio last week....master willow is cheeping happily here thanks to jooles.....i missed out on the little robins that jooles made at christmas so i got my order in quickly this time for a spring chick........i was a bit spoilt for choice as there were so many cute little chicks to choose from.....
....this week i am sorting out seeds to plant.....i am planning to have my usual sweet pea wigwam and next to it the beans wigwam, and then a few salad vegetables.......and a little bit of spare ground is going to be a cutting patch (i hope!)....so maybe this year will be the floweriest year ever in our garden...?
Thank you for visiting me here in my little flower patch of blogland....i love your visits and it's been fun reading your comments on my giveaway and meeting so many lovely new (to me) bloggers....wishing you all sunshine and happy days..........back soon xxxxxxxxxx

Coming to visit you here Helen is akin to walking into a room where the windows have been thrown open to let in sunlight, fresh air and birdsong ... much appreciated.

Happy seed sorting :D

te he - glad I (unknowingly!) made you a nice block (with 3 buttons - most only had 2!!!)
Loving Pip (natch) and DID NOT need to know that there was a Spring Chick option from Jooles...I literally hung around like a saddo waiting for her to put the christmas robins on her site...and my little bird is still hanging in the hall. Only yesterday I looked at her, in her whooly scarf, and thought I should put her away until winter. Now I'll have to seek out the spring variety!
Lovely sunny post...and there are some new blocks with your name on on my Flickr site!!!

Happy Mother's Day to you. (late) What a wonderful celebration you had with your girls. You can see the love in their special gifts to you. All the things you love! Enjoy your beautiful weather. I have been enjoying a few days of warm weather here, as I recover from a horrid head cold and cough, but I think I'm on the mend.

What a gorgeous happy coloured cushion Helen! Love those flowers too, I am yet to try a flower shape even though I have been meaning to for a while! I just bought myself a chick though :) I have had my eye on one in particular since last week and luckily he hadn't been sold to someone else since I was being so slow! Glad you had a lovely mother's day too, you were very spoilt! xxx

It has turned totally gorgeous this week and I have to be honest, I even fell asleep in the garden for ten this afternoon it was that warm.

But you know when you're half asleep and can hear someone snoring that you think 'oh please will you be quiet, I'm trying to take a nap?'. Then you wake with a jolt when you realise it was you making that noise. 'yep' - that was me this afternoon.

I just hope the neighbours didn't hear me. I couldn't hear any giggling that is.

Happy spring to you Helen

Helen, you post is full of joyful new springtime and Mother's Day celebration. Truly lovely!

The little yellow primroses put a perfect accent on your granny crochet cushion. Funny, before I saw your cushion, I'd never realized how well crocheting can mimic primroses...one of my favorite flowers. Now, I must try some of my own.

Thank you. xo

Hello Helen, I am so glad you got pampered a little on Mother's day. Your cushion is so spring-like and cheerful, as is your new little chick.
All the garden plans sound very exciting, looking forward to the flowers particularly.

Many thanks for your comments on stencilling. Yes I should think the alphabet and number stencils would come in very handy for your work. Apologies for the belated reply. It is good that I am busy as I have had a slack period, which is nice for a while, but then you start to panic! Have a wonderful weekend, love Linda x
