These are some of my new farmer's wife quilt blocks spread out on the table.....i am still having fun making these, especially choosing the next one to do.....
.....and slowly but surely there will eventually be a pretty quilt filled with varied blocks at the end of the sewing ....maybe not for quite a while though ;-)......and there are some other (different but lovely) blocks here this week.....i was a bit late to this particular block party, having only just discovered Fee at Chipper Nelly....but i'm making up for lost time now......
.....the set of wooden ABC nursery blocks is just delightful, i love them as little works of art........
....i looked (without success) in vintage shops for years to find some just like these to use in pictures and to simply look at and enjoy......
......i think they are gorgeous, and the bunnies like them too ....i found Fee's blocks through Annie at Knitsofacto who is having a giveaway over on her lovely blog which happens to include a special block from Chipper Nelly...so pop over there and put your name in the draw if you haven't already.......it is open until March 9........
.....this pretty tin is where i keep the farmer's wife quilt templates.......last week i made one of the blocks for a second time....the one called Bouquet (you can't have too many bouquets though can you?)......
....and the one in the front here is called Flock.......(also in this picture is the LOL bracelet i picked up while shopping with Sarah and Daisy last week).....i liked the colours of the beads here with the fabrics and i always love things with letters on.....(the other bracelet's word choice was totes amaze)
It's like the first day of spring here today...warm, sunny, blue sky, birds singing, flower petals opening, trees blossoming....a day for a stripy tee shirt and no woolly cardi....a day to drive with the window down and listen to old songs....wonderful springtime....
Thank you for visiting me here in my little space on this beautiful day....i hope you have a wonderful weekend and that it is full of the joys of spring.....i think it's about time i organised a spring giveaway don't you?....i'll be back with one very soon xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Helen! I love the colors of your Farmer's Wife blocks! It is so cheerful! xoxo Debbie
Hello lovely Helen. Sorry I haven't been very good about leaving comments lately but I am still reading! Picture blocks - they are one of my most favourite things. Such memories. Thank you for sharing xx
What beautiful fabrics. The white makes them look really fresh and summery!
They are super blocks Helen and look great with your photos. You have lots of WIP there. The quilts are looking gorgeous. The sun has shone all day again today and it feels like spring is around the corner. Enjoy the weekend..nearly there again!

The Flock block is so pretty Helen, I really like the colour combo in that one. Well I like all the blocks, but that one especially. One of the best things about a big block quilt is the way everyone will have a different favourite block.
Thank you so much for the mention. And Fee's wooden blocks are wonderful aren't they!
oohh i do so love all the colours you use Helen ! Would you mind telling me what the fabric you use with flowers on is called, e.g. the yellow with roses, green with roses and pink with roses? I want to make my first quilt soon and they would be perfect colours for it :-) x
That will be one gorgeous quilt once finished, the colors are just beautiful! I love the templates-tin too, if only I was as organized :)
Happy March 1st!
Yours,
Mia
As I often say Helen, it is always spring here at your blog! The patchwork blocks are lovely as are the wooden blocks too. I really must get on and complete the patchwork cushion I started last year!!! x
How lovely you have made Spring sound! I love your patchwork, I've been wanting to make a quilt with triangles and was thinking about Birds in the air, I think it's the same as your Flock block, haha Flock block xxx
Lovely work Helen, makes me feel that Spring is indeed just around the corner!

Gorgeous quilt blocks and fabulous choice of fabrics and colours.
Can't wait to see it all finished which I'm sure will be sooner than you think!

Hi Helen just been ordering 2 of your delightful books on Amazon!! I am sending 2 of my ladybird books to Fee to make me some blocks using my favourite 'The Party and Going to School'. She is so clever and what a wonderful idea.
The charming blocks do look lovely with your bunny, Helen!
Your blocks, both fabric and wooden, are so pretty!
Hi Helen,
So nice to see such lovely quilt squares. Just love all the designs, the finished quilt will be so gorgeous. Your choice of colors and fabric are just brilliant. The blocks are so sweet, why is it that they just set the tone of the bunny and playfulness. So great you are having lovely weather, Enjoy it and a little for me too. We have 2 more months of cold and then mud season. (the thaw)
xoRobin❤
Once again you outdid yourself with pretty pastel candy colored fabrics and photos.. and I am so jealous of your Sping! We had snow this morning! I have a photo of it on my blog.. do pop over and see what I made yesterday! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Beautiful blocks - love the patchwork, you've done so many blocks now, they look so lovely all together like that. Fee's alphabet blocks are gorgeous too and great for photo styling as you say - am a big fan of her work and lovely blog, she always has a funny tale to tell too (did you read yesterday's pig and hen story???) Anyway, hope the weather stays nice and that you manage to get some more patchwork done this weekend, Jenny xxx
I have seen these blocks before and love them, so pretty as is your patchwork love the colours :) have a wonderful weekend sweetie

Helen your patchwork is an absolute joy to look at, as are those wonderful vintage blocks. Have a wonderful weekend!
Lovely post ,pictures and colours xx
Quilt blocks, wooden blocks - all so lovely.
Bunny looks perfect sitting there!
Lovely too is your cushion in CB mag - I love the fabric & the way in which you've matched the colours.
I've recently unearthed the text of a talk on the history patchwork given to a North Wales branch of the WI by my husband's late aunt several years ago - fascinating! It claims that 'one tradition was to make a deliberate mistake in one of the blocks to show that man is not infallible but only God is perfect'. I wonder if you've ever heard that?!
All of your blocks are so very beautiful and I just love that bunny with the crocheted sweater. I was just looking through a couple of your cross-stitch books -- I keep crocheting, but would really like to get back into doing some simple cross-stitch projects. For now, it is time to call it a night. Hope your day is a good one. Tammy
Когда я смотрю на такую красоту,в моем сердце расцветает весна!!!!
Helen, your quilt is shaping up beautifully - I was 'totes amazed!' Don't tell my Mum but I've been cross stitching for her Mothers Day pressie - can't wait to show you :)
Helen your blocks look so lovely together like little puzzles. I love Chipper Nellies blocks and they look so right with your bunnies.
So glad you are beginning to get the lovely Spring weather, but I have news for you, it is always, permanently Spring at your place! You are a breath of fresh air, thank you for all the loveliness that you create and share.
Many thanks for your kind comments, I am sorry that you had to wait so long for a reply. I hope you are having a relaxing Sunday, with much love, Linda x
Your quilt blocks are so well made, the colors amazing. I love the patterns you have chosen too, 'The Farmer's Wife' , just its name is perfect.
