Hearts and Flowers

I expect lots of hearts will be being made and bought as valentine's day fast approaches ...of course i am making some too....but then i am always making hearts here for one reason or another ;-).....................
.....this blue flowery one is a sewing themed one for someone who *hearts* sewing just as much as me....
....and as well as hearts we have some flowers today .....this week i was given some beautiful tulips by my elder daughter which were chosen specially for me by my little grandson Charlie :-)) ..... they have really brightened up the house which was rather grey on one or two days and absolutely freezing cold....or sunny and still  absolutely freezing cold....but while the rest of the uk is now out playing in the snow we haven't got any at all!! .....not a single flake...
....i eyed the sledges in the cellar today rather disappointedly :-( ......but never mind the good news is that here the temperatures have gone back up and i can remove at least one layer of rowan felted tweed cardigans and one woolly scarf........
.....do you remember this little yellow home sweet home heart i showed here last year? i am going on a stitched heart hunt around the house (and potting shed) to collect them all together and hang them up for valentine's day.......
....the baby bunny heart here is my project in this month's Crafts Beautiful magazine...read more about it here.......the name Ruby is one i really like, it is also the nickname of one of my younger sisters x.....
......naming things is something i always enjoy, and i love the names of the quilt blocks in the Farmer's Wife Quilt book....here are two new ones i've made called Spool and Old Windmill..........
....and here is a quick picture of my cosy Spring Flowers blanket, still striping merrily along and keeping me cosy at the same time....it's always a good idea to hand sew a quilt or crochet a blanket when the weather is chilly isn't it?
Thank you for dropping by today, it's so lovely to see you.....i hope you are keeping warm if you live in the colder parts of the world...(or just right if in the warmer ones).....and that you have a wonderful, happy flowery week....back soon xxxxxxx

I always love visiting you Helen. You have the prettiest of projects. Your spring stripe blanket is just precious. I posted a picture of my granny stripe that I also began. Don't you just love this pattern?? Will you crochet a border? What type of yarn are you using? Mine is 100% cotton but I think the next one will be so fun if it had a wool blend. :0)
hugs to you. Trish

This post is just packed with light and spring colours! I love your hearts, the blue flowery one is just lovely. No snow here in Cornwall either, but nice to have some milder temperatures.
I haven't picked up my crochet blanket for ages so I think a few rows may be due tonight - thanks for the reminder!

I had heard about all of the snow that fell in the UK, except for your area, apparently!
The hearts and tulips are fabulous. As always, I love the happy colours in your post. Enjoy your Sunday.

No snow here either, such a disappointment :(

Such a lovely bright Spring-like post. Love it. Your makes are beauts.

Where can I get some fabric tape with printed words on? I see a lot of it on the internet but have no idea where to buy or how to make. Any advice would be so appreciated.

Thanks

So much love in such a lovely post Helen. I love all these little hearts. We had about 2" of snow here and I must admit it as been fun. We have been out for a walk and it looked very pretty. It is warming up though and already a lot of it is melting.Let's hope it's clear for the rush hour in the morning ;0) Keep snug,

You are welcome to the snow which fell here overnight - the children have been having fun but not so the road users.

So many lovely hearts! I haven't got a copy of CB yet but your cross stitched heart looks beautiful, really looking forward to seeing it. And I must try some cross stitch this year sometime too! We had a little snow here, but not much at all, and luckily it melted over the weekend - quite glad, I'm not really a fan of it anymore, far too disruptive! Hoping that will be it now for Winter and spring will come along soon :) Your granny stripe is looking gorgeous too - though i still have crochet hook envy of your polka dot one! Have a lovely week xxx
