Fresh and New

A fresh new year, and a fresh new start....i love the sense of new beginnings that this time brings.... and the tidying away of the xmas decorations and arranging of new things that i received from my dearies is always a new year pleasure......the blossom in the sweet new greengate jug above is from a tree in our front garden that blooms almost all year round...
....some new sewing pretties came my way and will be put to good use ......

.....and some delightful new pip china ......there is a jolly little robin in the garden today too, just like this one...i love the vivid colours and the textures of this design, and the stripes and the clever mix of new and vintage style...
........soon there will be more baking.... once the recent feasting has been recovered from.... and this sweet book will be inspiring me.......
..........i've been working hard since yesterday when Mr P went back to work and so did i.....my studio has been de-christmassed and some new bulbs have been brought in (yet to open, but almost there).....
....the light changes all the time, from a bright sunny spell first thing to grey and silvery and then to deep dark cloud......
....i have lots of illustrations to do, and my new book projects to make and write about, and my new stripy crochet blanket is growing amazingly fast, as many of you predicted, i love doing the stripes too :-))....will take a picture of it very soon.....
......wishing you all a happy first week of January...thanks so much for dropping in to see me and for everyone who follows and comments a big ThAnK YoU.....keep cosy and have a wonderful week....i'll be back soon xxxxxxxx

Good Morning Helen, I'm up early to get a head start and off to work, even though I'm not feeling so well. BUT your post did brighten my outlook. What fabulous photos, the colors and light are so great! Haven't seen the sun here much lately. I love all your gifts and new decorating. The robin set is just so sweet and I can see why you are in love with this lovely mix of vintage and new. Enjoy your week. See you soon. xoRobin❤

Excited about your new book, love your 1st : )

A very happy New Year to you Helen - you are ahead of me with the de-Christmassing - I am just about to start. Feeling a little sad to take down the tree and all my little festive bits and bobs but I do have a real sense of fresh beginnings this year so maybe it won't be a bad thing after all! Love your new pip china and your sweet blossoms - it is reminding me how lovely spring is and how much we have to look forward to this coming year! Here's to a happy, healthy and creative 2012 xxx

You really do have fab taste.... I can say that because i've got the very same jug but bigger. I haven’t got anything from Pip Studio, but I do love it.

Everything looks as delicious and fresh and colourful in your studio as always Helen, and the light is amazing. Are you really that blessed with good light or do you have huge windows, white walls and the right kind of lighting? I seem to spend hours chasing the light from room to room here so I envy you your bright, airy space. And what goodies you have filled it with!

I'm quite enamoured with the flowering branches in the polka dot jug. Wouldn't that make a pretty watercolour! I think watercolour, because there certainly aren't any flowering branches here in January.
