Sailing By

Hello!! I'm quickly sailing by today with a short post from our regatta week away...I feel as if I've been away ages this time and have so many blogs to catch up with...the pictures above were taken at Red Wharf Bay , Beaumaris and Caernarvon when we did a bit of exploring before the sailing began...
...here is the start of one race, with Mr P's boat in there too...I love watching them sail, and the Menai Straits is a great place to see the racing going on...
...some pictures of Beaumaris and the pretty pastel buildings...it is a very old town with a medieval castle, steeped in history and has a wonderful unspoilt atmosphere...each time I stay here I especially love to visit the Janet Bell Gallery where the mix of Janet's paintings and a variety of other artists work is always vibrant and exciting...you can visit them online here too...
We bought a gorgeous new print to add to our collection ...this is Penmon Pebbles by Janet Bell...
...and did I do lots of crafting while I was away you may be wondering? well, not nearly as much as I expected, what with the meeting up with friends and the sight seeing and the popping into the shops and watching the boats...I did some of my nine patch quilt, stitching in the ditch and in diagonal lines across the squares, and a teeny bit of crochet, learning to make flowers which I will show you in another post...and I did some work but not enough...so have lots to catch up with..

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last post (seems like ages ago doesn't it?) about my first crochet blanket, it was so nice to read them all! Thanks for dropping by today too, I love your visits..I am going now to do all the chores that a week away seems to provide...Hope you are all having a great weekend! Back very soon xxxxx

Dear Helen, I agree with Naturally Carol that blogland is a brighter place when you are around. It looks like you had some decent weather during the regata...

I am looking forward to seeing your next finished projects.

Janet Bell? I love her artwork.

Good luck with catching up on the (tedious) chores.

Have a happy Sunday.

Welcome back Helen, What a wonderful looking holiday you had! Love your pictures and especially the second. I enlarged it and could see the beautiful distant landscape and of course the lovely sight of the sail boats. I use to sail and it is so exciting. Love your new Janet Bell purchase, it will go so nicely with your other. I think you showed us before?! You will get your work done, I think it was more important that you got to shop, visit and enjoy! Have a Sunny Sunday. xoRobin❤

Welcome back Helen. What a lovely break you have had. The boats look so picturesque don't they. I think some time out is the best recipe to recharge the batteries and restore creativity. I am sure you are now bursting with new things to do. Your new painting is a great addition. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, the sun is out here and I am enjoying tidying my garden,

Dear Helen,

Your regatta looks great! I am right to understand that your husband is one of the sailors?! That must be extra exciting. Beaumaris looks like a lovely city to me!

Wish you a happy new week!

Welcome back, Helen. That photo of the sails against that green landscaped shore is such a beauty. I could almost feel the sea breezes blowing through my hair!

The Janet Bell picture is also very fine, really capturing a certain light.

Best wishes!

Hi Helen, lovely photos of Beaumaris! Many years ago when I was a sales rep. I stayed in Beaumaris in a hotel overlooking all the boats. I thought it really pretty but I hadn't realised that the boats made jangley noises in the wind. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep. But I won't hold it against Beaumaris, as I thought it was a gorgeous little place, and I got to go to the Elizabeth Bradley shop. Is it still there I wonder? Many thanks for your lovely comments, love Linda x
