..........enjoying the daily surprises as new flowers open......
..........and watching birds, butterflies and bees among them.......
........the sweet peas have been growing so well and are a joy to have indoors next to my work table in little vases and jugs......
........earlier in the season we popped tiny nasturtiums in here and there and now it's fun to see them flowering.....we also have a row of sunflowers gradually growing taller......love this time of year so much and we need the rain for the flowers.......but hope the sun comes out again soon ;)........

Summer Quilts
Hello dear readers.......what a sunny summery time we've been having........
....we took the newest favourite four patch quilt made in nautical colours to the seaside for a photoshoot.....
.....it was a gloriously sunny bright blue sky day......and the boats were very inspiring with all the red white and blue.....
.........the pattern for this little quilt is in my etsy shop, link in sidebar........
.........after so much rain and cold recently it was very uplifting to be down beside the sea in such perfect summery weather.......below is a picture of the boatyard......
.......and then home again....a nice cup of tea in a sailing mug.......and a peek at the boats quilt backing fabric which is from lewis and irene.......
...........a light and summery quilt stack on the little chair at the weekend......
...........and snipping the first roses to scent the house........
............after a very long time of it being a work in progress i sewed the very last english paper pieced hexagon on to this quilt top this week......
............here it is hanging in the garden......just need to add some plain white borders to it and then it can be longarm machine quilted......
............i always like to have some hexie epp on the go..........so now this is finished i'll be starting another one ;) ....
..........thank you for dropping by to see me here lovely blog friends.....and thank you for the kind comments you leave me....it's always so nice to hear from you and to hear what you've been doing too....take care lovelies, enjoy a happy sunny week....back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dottie Drawstring Bag
Hello everyone....here i am with some sweet fabric play this week.....
......this is my dottie drawstring bag pattern made with some adorable belle and boo fabrics......
.........love this sweet sewing theme fabric so much.....it was hard to cut it up...... i made one bag from the fabric and one from patchwork with a few mixed scraps from my scrap basket.....
.....the cords and stops are from rose garden patchwork......
...........the fabric below is the toy box print which fits well with my love of vintage toys, blocks and nursery alphabets.....
..........it was so much fun to play with these fabrics, to choose linings and backings, and mix up the different patches.....there will be more to show you soon.....
.....the cords and coloured stops finish off the little bags so nicely and make them special....
.....love the star ones used here......and will be trying out lots more......
......little bags like these are lovely to make to hold little gifts, small toys or to collect treasures.....the pattern for the dottie drawstring bag is in my etsy shop link in sidebar.......
..........after a cold and wet week the sunshine did come back though it still needs to warm up a lot more.....i bought some flowers from the supermarket and added some more from the garden to make this colourful bunch in my pretty pink vase......
.........the cottage garden is in bud and some roses are beginning to open so hopefully we will have a lot more flowers to enjoy very soon......
....thank you for dropping by lovely readers and thank you for your kind comments......wishing you a happy sunny week ahead with crafty inspirations and cheery days.....keep well and take care lovelies.......back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
